Large collection of Halachic rulings and Shtarot Beit Din from the city of Fez, [most regarding the property of Rabbi Masud Azulai]. Signed by the rabbis of the city (1905-1960). Together with a collection of various manuscripts, Morocco, 20th century.
Shtarot and Halachic rulings:
* Shtarot Beit Din from 1909-1912 signed by rabbis: Rabbi Yosef ben Na'im [author of Malkei Rabanan], Rabbi Abba Atiye and Rabbi Yitzchak Ebn Denan. * Two notebooks of copies of Shtarot Beit Din from the 19th century with many signatures of Rabbi Yosef HaLevi Ebn Yuli, Rabbi Yosef ben Na'im [author of Malkei Rabanan] and Rabbi Raphael Ya'akov ben Atar – who verify the copy made in 1905. At the end of one of the notebooks appears a Halachic ruling from 1917 signed by Rabbi Chaim Siriro, Rabbi Shlomo Ebn Denan [Ra'avad of Fez, author of Asher LiShlomo and Bakesh Shlomo] and Rabbi Matitya Siriro. * Halachic rulings on official stationery of the Beit Din in Fez, most from 1942-1960, signed by the Chief Rabbi of Morocco Rabbi Yedidya Monsoniego, Rabbi Shmuel Ebn Denan and Rabbi Yehuda ben Atar. * Personal Letter with some interesting esoteric content by Rabbi Yedidya Monsoniego, addressed to his son Rabbi Rachamim.

[Morocco, 19th century]. * Manuscript leaves, Piyut for the reading of the Megillah by Rabbi Yosef Kimchi (father of the Radak). Handsome adorned writing. Manuscript containing responsa and halachic rulings, homiletics, compilations of novellae, charts of Goralot, Segulot and cures, prayers and riddles, Et Sofer – version of shtarot, Seder Olam, Ramban's Igeret HaMusar etc. [Fez, Morocco, 18th/19th century].
Responsa and halachic rulings by Rabbi Shlomo Amar, Rabbi Shmuel HaTzarfati, laws of terefot according to Fez customs, customs by Rabbi Refael Bardugo and customs of the Rabbi HaMarbitz. Homiletic to a responsum by Rabbi Maimon Bardugo. Entire homiletics written by several Moroccan Torah scholars. Also in the compilation of novellae are many quotes by Moroccan scholars, [from the Fez region]; HaRav HaMevin (Rabbi Moshe Bardugo), HaRav HaMashbir, Rabbi Yehuda ben Atar, Rabbi Moshe ben Va'ish, Rabbi Moshe ben Chamu, etc.
On the last page are many signatures of renowned Moroccan rabbis and Torah scholars: Rabbi Ya'akov Toledano, Rabbi Baruch Maman, Rabbi Shlomo Simchon, Rabbi Chaviv Toledano, Rabbi Yosef Bahalul, Rabbi Masud ben Chefetz, Rabbi Yosef ben Malka who mentions the name of his father Rabbi "Maimon ben Malka". Marginalia by several writers, some signed. Many glosses handwritten and signed by Rabbi Maimon Malka. Glosses signed "Mevin" and other signed glosses.
Additional later signatures of Rabbi "Baruch ben Ya'akov" and of "He'ach Nafsheinu ", by the writer who received the book from Rabbi Gavriel ben Ya'akov.
Approximately 157 pages. More than 310 written pages. 21 cm. Varying condition, fair to fair-poor, spotting and moisture and fungus damages, faded ink on some leaves. Wear and worm damage. Detached leaves. Unbound.

Manuscript, Machzor for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Prayers, songs and Piyutim, customs, Kavanot and compilations from the writings of the Ari, from the book Chemdat Yamim, etc. [North Africa, 18th/19th century].
Attractive scribal writing. At the beginning of the manuscript are customs and prayers for the month of Elul [prayer to recite at the cemetery… customarily recited by the Hebron community]. On the first leaf is a curly owner's signature: "Ha'Zvi Shlomo Tovi".
88 leaves. 16 cm. Most leaves are in fair condition. Spotting. The first leaf is detached. Several leaves have tears and dark stains from ink spread and ink corrosion (with damage to text). Worn binding.
* Enclosed is Likutei Tehillim. Livorno, [1791]. Miniature edition. Incomplete copy. Some leaves are handwritten replacements. At the beginning and end are leaves with handwritten compilations: Seder Pidyon Nefashot and Pidyon Nefesh according to the Ramban. Owner's signature: "Ha'Zvi Shlomo Tovi".

Certificate of recommendation for an emissary collecting funds for the charity of Rabbi Meir Ba'al HaNess, Rabbi Ya'akov Vaknin of Tiberias. Signed by the city's rabbis, Rabbi Shlomo Chaim, Rabbi Moshe Zrihan and Rabbi Ya'akov [---]. Marrakech (Morocco), 1924.
After words of great praise of the emissary Rabbi David Vaknin, the rabbis request "Our brethren, Bnei Yisrael, the children of Avraham Yitzchak and Ya'akov" to give him all money dedicated to hekdesh and for fulfilling vows and for the funds of Rabbi Meir Ba'al HaNess – "all should be delivered to him when he comes and on his return".
Signed by the Mekubal Rabbi Shlomo ebn Chaim (the first – died in 1928), Ra'avad of Marrakech. Rabbi Moshe Zrihan (died in Cheshvan 1952), served for more than 40 years as a member of the Beit Din and after the death of Rabbi Shlomo ebn Chaim, succeeded him as Ra'avad of Marrakech for more than 20 years.
Rabbi Ya'akov Vaknin (1869-1946), a leading rabbi, dayan and Torah authority in the city of Tiberias, was the firstborn son of the Ra'avad of Tiberias, author of VaYevarech David and brother of Rabbi Meir Vaknin, author of VaYomer Meir (Chief Rabbi of Tiberias). He travelled several times to North African countries as emissary of the Tiberias sages. Written on his tombstone: "Here is hidden a treasure of Torah…a holy man who sanctifies Heaven's name, the renowned Torah genius, tzaddik, pious and humble, the excellent dayan, man of all good qualities, the G-dly Mekubal Rabbi Ya'akov Vaknin".

* Large collection (hundreds of items) of letters, documents, proclamations and various printed items. Jerusalem and Eretz Israel, beginning of the 20th century. Includes letters from the archive of the Jerusalem Rabbinate, documents and receipts of various Jerusalem institutes (Talmud Torah Bnei Zion, Va'ad Meah She'arim, the Zion Orphanage, etc). Letters by various important individuals, stamps of rabbis, and signatures, etc.
* An extraordinarily big family archive (hundreds of items) including letters by Rabbi Shlomo Birdugo of Jerusalem and his family in Eretz Israel, Egypt and Meknès, 1920s and 30s. Rabbinical letters sent to Rabbi Shlomo Birdugo. Among those are a letter of recommendation signed by Rabbi Kook and many letters by Tiberias rabbis: Rabbi Ya'akov Chai Zrihan, Rabbi Ya'akov Chai Birdugo and Rabbi Baruch Toledano and others. The archive has not been thoroughly examined.

Some of the Siddur leaves are replacements in different handwritings and from different times. Most of the Siddur is written in the writer's handsome handwriting in 1653. Upper vowels (Nikud). Marginalia.

Manuscript, midrashim and compositions on matters of mesorah and grammar. [Yemen, 14th/15th century?].
Contains a number of compositions: * Midrash Chaserot V'Yeterot, on the Bible – This Midrash is an early midrash already studied in the time of the Geonim. It was printed in several versions from various manuscripts, including a manuscript by Rabbi Shlomo Aharon Wertheimer in his book Batei Midrashot (Part 2). Many changes, additions and omissions were found in comparison to the printed version. This manuscript begins with the Midrash in the middle of Parshat VaEra. Missing one (or more) leaves from Sefer Shmuel. * List of large and small letters in the Bible and lists of the prophets and the time they prophesized. * A long composition on letters, grammar and te'amim, including midrashic and poetic sections. Part of the compositon is the book Dikdukei HaTe'amim, by Aharon ben Asher [an early Ba'al Mesorah who lived in Tiberias during the time of the Geonim], with variations and editing which varies from that which was printed in Lipsia (Leipzig) in 1879. The other parts of the composition were not completely identified and were not thoroughly examined.
[49] leaves. Missing leaves at the beginning and at the end. Several leaves missing in the middle of the manuscript as well. Overall fair condition. Varied damages of wear and tear, stains, moisture traces and worm damages. Several leaves have coarse tears with damage to text. Worn and damaged binding.
The manuscript originated in the important library of Rabbi Yosef Kapach (1918-2000), a leader of Yemenite Jews in Eretz Israel, member of the rabbinical Beit Din and the Council of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. He translated and edited the Rambam's writings and many compositions of leading Rishonim.

Marginalia, primarily on matters pertaining to the Mesorah (until Parshat VaYechi). Entries in the name of the Tijan (12/a), the Maharitz (13/b), Rabbi Sa'adya in his Arabic commentary (14/b), the grammar book by the Maharitz (15/b, Sefer Ha'Azara (16/b).
