Obverse: in the center is a portrait of Rabbi Akiva Eiger, inside a frame bearing the inscription: "Portrait of … Rabbi Akiva Eiger of Blessed Memory … of the City of Poznań, Commemorating the Day of his Passing, 13 Tishrei 5598 [1837] …" [Hebrew]. Reverse: illustration of a pair of lions holding the Ten Commandments, and an inscription in German.
Diameter: 9.5 cm. Held in box. Plating chipped.

Six carpets produced by the weaving department of the Alliance school of crafts "Torah U'Melakhah". [Jerusalem, ca. 1920].
1. Carpet with a portrait of Theodor Herzl (facing right) gazing from the balcony in Basel at the Tower of David and the walls of Jerusalem, beneath them a procession of new immigrants.
2-4. Three different carpets with the portrait of Herbert Samuel.
5. Carpet with a portrait of Max Nordau.\
6. Carpet with a portrait of Lord Balfour [with a number of holes, including a hole in Balfour's portrait, in the area of the forehead. A similar hole appears in other versions of the carpet. See for example in the book by Anton Felton, Jewish Carpets, London 1997, p. 75].

Cloth with bird decoration and colorful embroidery, "Made by the General Israel Orphans Home Jerusalem". Jerusalem, [early decades of the 20th century].
Rectangular cloth, in the middle of which is a decoration of a bird carrying a branch with flowers in its beak. At the four corners are floral decorations. At the top and bottom margins is the inscription: "Made by General Israel Orphans Home Jerusalem" (Hebrew and English).
The "General Orphans Home" in Jerusalem was founded in 1902 by David Weingarten. At first it was situated on Meah Shearim Street, later moving to a building in the courtyard of the Ethiopian Church, and in 1930 it moved to the Alliance House on Jaffa Street, where 200 orphaned girls resided. The orphanage was called "General" because its doors were open to girls of all Jewish ethnic groups. The language spoken in it from its founding day was Hebrew.
Approx. 80X51 cm. Good-fair condition. Cloth slightly faded. Unraveled threads and tears where the cloth is attached to the lining. Holes to margins.

Ceremonial Palestinian dress. [Hebron area, 1920s or 1930s].
Embroidered cotton fabric with patchwork.
Long dress with long sleeves, embroidered with colorful threads in vegetal and geometric patterns. Colorful patchwork on the front, on the lower hem and on the sleeves. The embroidery on the chest piece - the qabbeh - shows motifs used as protection from disease and the evil eye.
Length: 149 cm, maximum width: 135 cm. Good-fair condition. Wear. Tears and unraveling.
