In 1944 the "Canadian Jewish Congress" published the "Jewish War Heroes" series – a series of three comic booklets, illustrated by George Menendez Rae, given away for free, to prove that Jews are part of the military effort. This issue tells the story of five Jewish war heroes. A list of decorations awarded to Jewish-Canadian soldiers, with illustrations of the decorations, appears at the end.
