Dr. Anton Hulsius (1615-1685), a German Protestant philologist and theologian, served as minister of of the French community in the city of Breda in The Netherlands. He gave the speech about the Hebrew language, the text of which was published in this booklet, in Breda on June 25, 1649.

A History of the Old and New Testament, with 214 engraved plates (on most of them appear two separate images that depict Biblical scenes), five maps (a map of the world and maps of Palestine and its environs – double plates), and two title-page engravings.
The text and the foreword at the beginning of the book were written by David Martin, a French Protestant theologian. Since the book was published by the Dutch cartographer and engraver Pieter Mortier (1661-1711), it is often referred to as "Mortier's Bible."
[20], 282, [8]; [20], 154, 20 pp. + plates, approx. 41 cm. Leather binding. Good condition. Large dampstain on the first leaves of the book and a few stains on the subsequent leaves. A small number of tears. Minor worming. Some pages and plates are bound upside down. The binding is reinforced with paper strips on the inside (along the seam between covers and endpapers). Work by Gottfried Selig (1722–after 1792), a convert from Judaism, about the customs and lives of Jews in Germany in the 18th century. The book – which deals, among other things, with customs and laws of marriage, marital relations, circumcision, and burial – contains two engravings. The first depicts a Jewish wedding held outdoors, and the second depicts a circumcision ceremony.
After converting to Christianity, Selig taught Judaism and rabbinic literature in Leipzig, and between 1768 and 1772 he published a nine-part series, also entitled "Der Jude," which dealt comprehensively and in detail with Jewish life and customs. The volume offered here is the first in a series meant to complement his previous work.

The book provides an overview of the history of the minting and use of Jewish coins in antiquity, beginning with the biblical account of Abraham’s return from Egypt "very rich in livestock, silver, and gold," and showing various coins – Hasmonean, Judean, Greek and Roman – from the time of the Maccabees and the three great revolts against the Romans, to the New Testament era. The book contains 254 illustrations of ancient Jewish coins. A plate containing the Phoenician, ancient Hebrew, Sumerian, Aramaic and other alphabets appears at the beginning of the book.

Jerusalem in the days of the second Temple with the Temple in the center, and Herod's palace in the north. On the bottom right corner appears an image of Solomon's coronation.
The map was printed in the Lutheran Bible published by Rieuwert Dircksz van Baardt in Amsterdam, 1648.

Charles William Wilson (1836-1905), a British Royal Engineers officer, geographer and archaeologist, one of the pioneers of the modern survey of Palestine, embarked on a mission on behalf of the Palestine Exploration Fund to the Sinai Peninsula. The results of the survey were published in five parts: The research survey, a folder with maps and three folders with photographs. This is the second part.
