1. Letter by the Ga'on Azriel Aryeh Leib Rakowsky Av-Beit-Din Polcek (Poland), to Rabbi Yehuda Levinsohn Av-Beit-Din Stockholm, concerning arrangement of divorce for aguna whose husband fled to Sweden. Nissan 1869.
2. A long letter in a poetic style, to Rabbi Levinsohn, regarding the same aguna, from "Dorshei Ha-Torah Veha-Chochma Society in Plonsk" Adar 1869. Signed and ink stamped by the heads of the society [interesting stamp].
The story of the Aguna of Polcek is told in detail in the letter,. Her husband fled to Sweden and left her alone with young children. The writers attribute this sinful deed to the fact that the husband belongs to the "those who became chasidic" and defame "the stork [stork in Hebrew is 'Chasida'] that spread its wings in our skies and darkened the sun and wisdom…"
