A poetry booklet by the Yiddish poet and playwright Lipa Reznik (1890-1944). Cover designed by Joseph Tchaikov (1888-1986).
Tchaikov, sculptor, painter, graphic designer, teacher and theorist, studied in Paris in 1910-1913. Was an active member in groups and societies of Jewish artists and one of the founders of "Kultur Lige" in Kiev.

"Menachem Mendel", series of stories by Sholem Aleichem. Out of a series of selected works published by "Shul un Bukh", a publishing house focusing on communist and Yiddish literature. The cover was designed by Nathan Altman (1889-1970), Jewish-Russian avant-garde artist, illustrator and stage-set designer.

Berglsohn (1884-1952), Yiddish playwright and author, was executed by Stalin in 1952.
[4], 7-48 pp + [8] illustration plates, 26 cm. First leaves are loose and almost entirely detached. Creases and stains. Some tears at margins of leaves (a tear, reinforced with adhesive tape on the first leaf). Ink-stamp on last page. Pencil inscriptions and a bookplate on front endpapers. The novel Exodus, which was published in English in 1958, was translated into Yiddish in the 1960s by David Karpinovitz and Melech Karpinovitz. These booklets were published weekly and sold at kiosks for 25 agorot apiece. Booklet 31–34 contain an advertisement for the first showing of the film "Exodus" at Heichal Hatarbut in Tel Aviv.
12 issues, approx. 18 cm. Condition varies. Overall fair-good condition.
