Scraps depicting biblical, Jewish and Zionist themes, among them Joseph and his brothers, lighting candles, Jewish wedding, "Tashlich", flying a blue and white flag, Lady Liberty welcoming Jews to the USA and more. The collection includes a number of non-scrap "Shanah Tovah" greeting cards.
Size and condition vary. Good overall condition. Tears and open tears to a number of scraps. Traces of pasting. One scrap is pasted to paper.

Four Real Photo postcards – High Commissioner Herbert Samuel in Jaffa. [Photograph: H. Hanoch]. Jaffa, 1920.
1–2. "The landing of Sir H. Samuel at Jaffa" (June 30, 1920), two postcards. One of the postcards depicts the High Commissioner reviewing an honor guard, and the other depicts him standing near his car.
Both postcards are captioned and dated in the plate.
3–4. "Sir H. Samuel visits the battleship the Emperor of India," two postcards. Both depict the High Commissioner on the deck of the Emperor of India beside a naval officer. Both are captioned in the plate.
Sir Herbert Samuel was appointed High Commissioner for Palestine before the League of Nations gave its official approval to a British mandate for Palestine. He landed on the shore of Palestine on June 30, 1920 in order to take office.
9X 14 cm. Good condition. Stains, creases and blemishes.

1. "Bilder fun dem pogromirten bobroysker gegent". Postcard with a photograph of two orphans who survived the riots in Babruysk (Belarus), with two nurses. Published by Comité Executif de la Conference Universelle Juive de Secours [executive committee of the universal Jewish emergency conference], Paris, [ca. 1920]. Printed on the bottom and on verso is an appeal for donations, in Yiddish, French and English.
2. "Martyrs of Tel Aviv 1929". A real-photo postcard by H. Aroshkes [Zvi Oron], portraying bodies of two victims in the Tel Aviv riots – [Baruch] Berkovich and Dr. [Moshe] Harari. Titled in the plate and stamped on the back with photographer's stamp.
3. "Starving children in Berdinsk". Printed card with a photograph of a group of starving children and an appeal: "Jewish children! Look at your small friends […] ask your parents to pity them […]". No publisher or date indicated.

1-2. Two postcards published by Palphot, Tel-Aviv, "Photograph Z. Kluger" [Zoltan Kluger]: main entrance to the fair and photograph of the British Pavillion.
3. Postcard with the photograph of the Palestine Industries Pavilion ("Palace of Local Products") at the end of the entrance avenue to the fair. Stamped on the back with two stamps: the Flying Camel stamp with the year 1934; photographer Eugen Spiegel's stamp.
4. Photograph of the Flying Camel sculpture by architect Aryeh Elhanani. On the back appears an ink-stamp: "Photo Erde – Ephraim Erde". Dated by hand on the back – 1936.

1. Photograph of two Palmach soldiers, Avraham Atiya and Amnon Brieger, by a Schwarzlose machine gun. A "Shanah Tovah" greeting appears on the photograph (in the plate). The photograph is titled on the back, in handwriting: "Avraham Atiya and myself on the Castel during the siege".

2. Card with a photograph of a mountainous view, captioned "LeShanah Tovah, 1948" and bearing the Palmach emblem. A paper label is attached to the card with a handwritten greeting: "to the hospital, the doctors, nurses and workers! Wishing you Shanah Tovah, good health and recovery, one of the patients, Emanuel G.".

Twenty nine IDF "Shanah Tovah" cards. (1948-1949) [some cards are possibly from later years].
Most cards are folded in half; on the inside is a space for adding the sender's name and a mounted independence war photograph, and on the outside – a "window" through which the photograph is seen (the photographs differ from each other: fighters, armored vehicles, aircrafts, parades, and more). The collection also includes a number of greeting cards for special units: navy, Negev Brigade, "Harel" Brigade, "Battalion 79", and other units.
Most of the cards bear the sender's name, dedications and greetings written by hand, and some bear postmarks and Israeli postal stamps.
Enclosed: A card with the IDF emblem and a frame with a soldier's photograph on top. On the bottom is an inscription: "Photo Kugel Haifa".
Size and condition vary. Good overall condition.
