Ink stains at bottom margins of leaves. Small tears at margins. Open tear to last leaf (blank). Defects to binding and spine. Tears to joints between binding and body of book.

A poem and 15 impressive linocuts, in the spirit of German Expressionism, by Anatol Gurewitsch, all depicting the persecution of Jews in Germany.
Anatol Gurewitsch (1919-2005), born in Russia, studied in Germany, France and Italy and with the Israeli painters Miron Sima and Yitzchak Frenkel. Immigrated to Palestine in 1934, where he painted and designed stage sets and costumes for the theater.

The book depicts the creation process of the dozen stained glass windows by Marc Chagall. The windows, in the synagogue of "Hadassah En Kerem" hospital in Jerusalem, depict the Twelve Tribes and are considered one of Chagall's most famous works. The book contains numerous illustration plates, in color and in black and white, and two original lithographs in color by Chagall.

Artist and teacher Avraham Yaskil (1894-1987) established the Association of Artists and Sculptors in Haifa and Northern Israel. In the mid-40s, he founded the first museum of Israeli and Jewish plastic art in Haifa.

Jerusalem Faces, portfolio of six original lithographs by Oscar Kokoschka (1886-1980) – Portraits of Jerusalem's political and religious figures. In April 1973, the expressionist artist Oscar Kokoschka visited Jerusalem. During his visit, he drew the portraits of six prominent figures who were active at that time in Jerusalem and who impacted its character: Prime Minister Golda Meir; President of the Israeli Supreme Court Shimon Agranat; Minister of Defense Moshe Dayan; Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek; Patriarch of the Orthodox Greek Church in Jerusalem, Benedict I; head of Waqf of the Dome of the Rock Sheikh Mustafa Khalil al-Ansari. Kokoschka's portraits were published in this portfolio, for the Benefit the Jerusalem Foundation.
Each of the lithographs is numbered (29/150) and signed in pencil by Kokoschka. A paper sheet folded into two with the description of the lithographs and a colophon (also numbered) is enclosed with the lithographs.
