A volume with 96 engraved plates depicting sites mentioned in the Bible and in the New Testament (including title pages of both parts); engraved by William Finden and Edward Francis Finden after paintings by William Turner, Augustus Wall Callcott, David Roberts, and others. Among the aengravings: engravings depicting views and sites in Palestine (Jerusalem, Mount Tabor, Mount Carmel, Kishon river and more), Egypt, Jordan, Syria and more places. Alongside the engravings are printed texts about the different sites.
XII, [177] text pages + [96] engraved plates, 31.5 cm. Gilt edges. Good condition. Stains. Creases and tears at margins of leaves. Half leather binding. Binding slightly faded, with some tears and damages.

Yom-Tov (Leopold) Lipman Zunz (1794-1886) was a Jewish-German scholar and researcher of Judaism, founder of "Chochmat Israel" movement.
