Two press photographs recording the hanging of Jews in Baghdad, in 1969.
Early in 1969 fourteen Iraqi citizens were arrested for alleged espionage for Israel. Out of the fourteen nine were Jews, and all were sentenced to public execution. On 27.1.1969 the residents of Baghdad were called to attend the execution in the Liberation Square.
The photographs presented here depict four of the Jewish victims after the execution, two of them in each photograph. On their chests are signs, in Arabic, each listing the verdict, religion, age, profession and name: Sabah Haim, David Yehezkel Dlal, David Gali and Yehezkel Salach Yehezkel.
Press information notes are pasted on the back of the photographs (English), alongside ink-stamps: Associated Press Photo.
Approx. 20X15 cm. Good condition. Slight damage. Stains on verso. Tear reinforced with adhesive tape to top margins of one photograph (slightly affecting the photograph).

Fifteen photos of the ceremony at which the author S.Y. Agnon and the poetess Nelly Sachs were awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Also included in the collection are photos of Agnon's visit to London after receiving the award. [Stockholm and London, December 1966].

150 press photographs documenting prime ministers, ministers and political events from the late 1960s through the early 1990s by the photographers Shalom Bar-Tal, Shalom Marder, Rivka Freiwald, Uzi Keren, Hanania Hermann, Tali Shani, Ya'akov Sa'ar, Shaul Golan, Shosh Kormush and others.
The photographs portray Golda Meir, Moshe Dayan, Menachem Begin, Yitzchak Rabin and Shimon Peres with ministers, Knesset members and other personalities from the political scene. Photographs from the Knesset, from speeches and press conferences, from elections gatherings, from ceremonies, events and meetings all over the country; photographs with their families, at weddings, funerals and more. Some of the photographs, from the late 1970s, document the process of negotiations and the public response prior to the peace treaty with Egypt, portraying president Sadat visiting Israel, the peace talks, a demonstration against the withdrawal from Sinai and more.

Approximately 110 black and white photographs taken by the photographer Kalman (Karl) Weiss, documenting events, institutes and persons related to the Jerusalem religious community. Jerusalem and other Palestine locales, mid-late 20th century.
Some of the subjects which appear in the photographs: The Rishon L'Zion Ben Zion Meir Chai Uziel, Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna, Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman, Rabbi Yehuda Leib Maimon, IDF Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren, Yitzchak Ben-Zvi and his wife Rachel Yanait, Zalman Shazar, Efraim Katzir, Yigal Alon, Henrietta Szold, businessman and philanthropist Yitzchak Wolfson, etc.
The photographer's stamp appears on verso – a handwritten inscription framed by an ornate border: "History of the nation, the Jewish settlement in Palestine".
Kalman Weiss (1908-2000), Jewish photographer, born in Graz (Austria). In 1939, soon before the outbreak of WWII, he fled to Palestine and settled in Jerusalem, where he began his career as a photographer. His works primarily document the religious and Charedi society in Jerusalem, which were rarely recorded in those days.
Some photographs in the collection appear in multiple copies. A few bear handwritten descriptions on their verso.
Approximately 110 photos, 11X18 cm. Condition varies. Overall good-fair condition. Several photos are in poor condition, with closed and open tears, loss and chipping and defects. An additional photographer's ink-stamp, crossed out with pen, appears on the verso of most of the photos.

Photographs: 8.5X11 cm. The photos are mounted on cardboard cards (size of cardboard: 12.5X18.5 cm. and 14X21 cm.). Good condition. Minor stains to cardboard cards. One is lacking a corner.

Five photographs documenting a Yiddish theater play in Vienna. [Vienna, 1929].
Apparently, the photographs were taken during a performance of the play "Der Sänger seiner Trauer" (after "Yoshke Musikant" by Osip Dymov) in the Yiddish theater in Vienna, 1929.
Three photographs are signed in the plate "Glantz, Wien" (one is dated 1929). All the photographs, except for one, are stamped on the back with photographer's ink-stamp – "Atelier Glantz" (Vienna). Two photographs are ink-stamped with other stamps.
5 photographs – two photographs: 9.5X13 cm, two photographs: 22.5X17 cm and one photograph: 20X10 cm. Good overall condition. Slight stains and creases. Folds and tears at corners of one of the photographs (lacking two corners). Stains and traces of pasting on verso of photograph.

Two large format photographs – en-face and profile – of a Jew in Morocco, by Ludwig Jindra, [Morocco, 1930s].
Each photograph is mounted on a cardboard board and ink-stamped with the photographer's stamp, on the corner and on verso of the cardboard. The photographs are titled on the cardboard by hand, in English, and numbered (520 and 521).
The Czech photographer Ludwig Jindra (? – 1985) was commissioned by his government in the 1930s to conduct a "world tour" and record his travels photographically. During his tour, he photographed in the Middle East, North Africa and the Far East.

* Eight studio and group photos of the family. Five are stamped by photographers from Alexandria: "Alban" [Alban Arman?], "Photo Roy" and "S.M. le Roi", and four with signed with penciled (on the paper).
* Approximately 20 letters and documents from 1946-1947, handwritten and typewritten, documenting the efforts of Jean Weinblatt to locate a family member in Africa. Among other attempts, Jean corresponded with acquaintances and representatives in Bulawayo (Zimbabwe), Cape town and Pretoria, from whom he heard of the death of his relative. Further in the letter, Jean corresponds with representatives of the Cape Jewish Board of Guardians from Cape Town regarding erecting a tombstone in his relative's memory in the city's Jewish cemetery (a sketch of the tombstone is enclosed with one letter and a photo of the tombstone after its erection is enclosed with another letter). English.
* Marriage permit, printed and filled in by hand, signed by Chaim Nachum Effendi, Chief Rabbi of Egypt, issued in 1940. Ink-stamped by the Egyptian Chief Rabbinate and bearing other stamps as well. French.
* 20 letters exchanged among family members during the 50s (most were sent by the mother of the family, from Milano); other items.
