Ma’aleh Bet Chorin, Passover Haggadah with Ashkenazi (Yiddish) translation and commentaries (Maharal, Alshich, Abarbanel, etc.) and illustrations. Amsterdam, 1810. Printed by the widow Proops. Two title pages (preliminary title page with a copperplate illustration). Enclosed at the end of the book is a folded Hebrew map, demonstrating the Jewish people’s travels in the desert and the partition of the Land of Israel among the Tribes. The map and the copperplate illustrations follow the illustrations by Abraham Ben Jacob Hagar from the 1695 Amsterdam Haggadah. Ownership inscription on leaf preceding title page: “Pinchas ben Rabbi Yitzchak Anderson, 6 Nisan 1855”. [2], 9, 50 leaves + folded map. 26 cm. Fair to good condition, Stains, dampness and worming [slight damage to text in several places]. The map is in good condition, minor restorations to margins. Detached and damaged binding.
