Letter signed by R. "Shimon Yehuda HaKohen Shkop", dean of the Grodno yeshiva. Hrodna (Grodno), Elul 1938.
Addressed to R. Yisrael Zinober in England. Typewritten, with the handwritten signature "Shimon Yehuda HaKohen Shkop". The letter contains an appeal on behalf of the yeshiva, which was in dire financial straits. R. Shimon asks him to arrange a special fundraising campaign on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and concludes with blessings for a good year and the threefold Priestly blessing.
R. Shimon Yehuda Shkop (1860-1939), a disciple of R. Chaim Soloveitchik in the Volozhin yeshiva. He served as dean of the Telz yeshiva and later the Shaar HaTorah yeshiva in Grodno, where he transmitted to his many students his innovative method of logical study - approach adopted by the entire Torah world until this day.

Sent to R. Tzvi Hirsch Ferber, rabbi in London, requesting an urgent meeting with him the next day. Signed: "Your faithful friend, Meir Dan Refael son of R. C.Y. [R. Chaim Yitzchak]".
The renowned R. Meir Dan Plotzky (1866-1928), a prominent Polish rabbi in the early 20th century. One of the founders of Agudath Yisrael in Poland and member of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah. He was one of the most brilliant Torah scholars in Poland, and his book Kli Chemda on the Torah was highly cherished by leading Polish Torah scholars.
Small postcard. 9X11.5 cm. Good condition.
Postmarks dated May 3, 1921. It is known that in the spring of 1921, R. Plotzky visited England and Belgium.

Letter (approx. 8 lines) handwritten and signed by R. Shlomo Tzvi HaKohen Strasser Rabbi of Debrecen, addressed to R. Fishel Sussman Sofer, Orthodox rabbi of Budapest. [Debrecen, 1940].
Written at the foot of a (printed) letter from the Central Bureau of the Autonomous Orthodox Jewish Communities, cautioning that small mezuzot, which up until now had been supplied from Poland, were still being sold even though war was raging there. Since the soferim in Hungary are not capable of producing such small mezuzot, they are likely forged.
R. Shlomo Tzvi HaKohen Strasser added in his handwriting that he agrees to the publicizing of his signature on these cautions.

Letters confirming receipt of charity funds sent by R. David Elbaum, through R. Zalman Rothberg dean of the Beit Meir yeshiva. The letters include blessings for good health, success, "for the good and for blessing", "all-encompassing", and for a good year.

He was known as a wonder-worker who benefitted from Divine Inspiration, and many sought his blessings and counsel.
