Back plate in form of oval-shaped medallion bearing portrait of Theodor Herzl, surmounting a plaque inscribed with the (Hebrew) name "Dr. Binyamin Ze'ev Herzl" followed by Herzl's date of birth and date of passing: "10th Iyar 5620 [1860], 20th Tammuz 5664 [1904]." The plaque surmounts a horizontal base upon which, in front, the eight candleholders are placed. The servant light is positioned to the right of Herzl's portrait. "Israel" (in Hebrew and English) is inscribed on the surface of the base, in front of the candleholders on either side.
Height: 12 cm. Good condition.

The row of candleholders, including the servant light, is positioned on top of the plaque. Place and date inscribed on back (English): "Israel 1967."

A singularly unique Hanukkah lamp, apparently custom-made and privately commissioned.
Hanukkah lamp designed in form of a flat map of Israel, including all territories captured in the Six-Day War of 1967 (i.e., the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, Judea and Samaria, and the Golan Heights). The Sea of Galilee and other bodies of water appear as openwork gaps. The item bears a dedicatory inscription (Hebrew, on surface of map, over area of Negev and Sinai) to the Chief Officer of the IDF's Intelligence Branch (with the rank of Brigadier General); the Hanukkah lamp was presented to him as a farewell gift upon his retirement. The candleholders (including the servant light) and the four legs are all made from bullet cartridges. Three emblems – of the IDF, of the Intelligence Branch, and an officer's insignia – are screwed into three of the corners of the work.

1. Large Hanukkah lamp. Candleholders, including servant light, made from bullet cartridges screwed into a 75-mm shell cartridge, itself supported on two additional bullet cartridges. Emblem of IDF soldered onto servant light. On front, plaque with (English) inscription "I.A.C.E. [International Air Cadet Exchange?] 1970, Israel Air Force." Emblem of Israel Air Force, and Star of David on metal plaque soldered or glued onto shell cartridge. Height: 19 cm. Width: 27.5 cm.
2. Large Hanukkah lamp. Candleholders, including servant light – incrementally ascending in height from left to right – made from bullet cartridges screwed into horizontal shell cartridge, itself supported on additional vertical shell cartridge. Height: 24 cm. Width: 32 cm.
3. Small Hanukkah lamp. Candleholders, including servant light, made from bullet cartridges soldered onto a 40-mm cartridge, itself supported on two additional bullet cartridges. Three Hanukkah lamps made from rifle butts. Candleholders, including servant lights, made from bullet cartridges. Hanukkah lamps of this type were presented as farewell gifts to members of the standing army upon their retirement from the IDF. They were typically made from the rifle butts of the actual weapons that had accompanied the retiring soldiers throughout the course of their military careers.
1. Supported on wooden base. With emblem of Israel Navy missile boat flotilla crew, the IDF emblem, and the image of an athlete (shot-putter?) holding up the IDF's athletic badge of honor. Height: 16.5 cm. Width: 29.5 cm. Good condition.
2. Supported on bullet cartridge. Height: 20 cm. Width: 30 cm. Good condition.
3. Supported on base made from the rim of a 90-mm artillery tracer shell (of the type fired from a tank gun). Height: 17 cm. Width: 29.5 cm. Good condition.

At center of base, up against back plate, a slice of wood serves as a pedestal for a small wooden model of a ship. Ship's "smokestack" acts as servant light. Row of candleholders arranged in front. Pitcher of oil, with slender handle, inserted into designated socket next to ship.

Large, upright Hanukkah lamp, supported on six legs. Attached to the leg facing forward is an ornament in the shape of a fighter jet. Central column bears three emblems of the Israel Air Force's Center for Technical Publications (in three colors – bronze, silver, and gold). Above these, the "Paratrooper Wings" (insignia of the Paratroopers Brigade), and above this, three square plaques with the emblem of the IAF. Similarly, a rectangular plaque with the IAF emblem appears at the tip of each branch. Candleholders all made from rifle bullet cartridges.
Height: 54.5 cm. Width: 43 cm.

2-4. Three small decorative dishes (copper repoussé). Medallion-shaped work composed of mosaic tiles in the center of each, one with a depiction of a boat, another with a dog, and a third with a bird. Size varies. Overall good condition.
Ha'Meshakem is an Israeli company – established in 1958 and jointly owned by the World Zionist Organization and the State of Israel's Ministry of Welfare and Social Services – dedicated to the vocational and professional rehabilitation of people with disabilities, and their integration into the local job market.
