Biblia Sacra Polyglotta, a multi-lingual edition of the Bible edited by Brian Walton. Printed by Thomas Roycoft, London, 1657. Volumes no. 1, 2, 4, and 6.
Four volumes (out of six) of the "London Polyglot", edited by Brian Walton. This is the fourth polyglot edition of the Bible and the New Testament, considered one of the most important polyglots. It was edited by Walton together with a team of scholars and is accompanied by various philological studies and translations of the bible into nine different languages, among them Samaritan, Persian, Ethiopian, Greek and Latin. A copy of this edition was owned by Isaac Newton and was used by him when he wrote his composition "Notes on the Jewish Temple".
The first volume, with the Pentateuch, has eight engraved plates: illustrated title page, Walton's portrait, maps of Jerusalem and of Palestine (two printed on double pages), illustrations of the Temple and more.
Volume no. 1: [14], 53,38,102 [i.e. 106] pp, [1] leaf, 865 pp + [8] plates. Volume no. 2: 889, [1], 29, [1] pp. Volume no. 4: 87 pp, [2] leaves, 20, 23,128, 159, 390 pp. Volume no. 6 (supplements): [1] leaf, 72, 56, 98 [i.e. 68], 80, 140, 24, 29-196, 24, 47, 47-58, 36, 36, 96 [i.e. 74], [2] pp. Approx 44 cm. Condition varies between the volumes. Stains, worming and tears. Ownership signatures. Newspaper clippings are mounted on the inner side of the front cover of volume no. 1. Contemporary leather bindings with gilt decorations, worn and torn, with lacking pieces to spines (some loose).

Yom Kipur and Succot prayers out of a Siddur according to the Karaite rite, published by Michael Krup. Jerusalem, [2007].
Facsimile edition of a Karaite prayer book - Siddur, printed in Venice in 1529. The original book consisted of five parts, and apparently no complete copy has survived. In this edition prayers for Yom Kippur and Succot were printed incorporating leaves from the original edition (leaves 27-40 and 93-96).
[1], 105, [6], 105-133 leaves. 19.5 cm. Good condition. Tears and stains to original leaves. Margins of the original leaves are professionally repaired.

Het Boek Genaamd De Vervulde Penne Josephs, prayers compiled and translated from the Hebrew by Joseph Hamburger. Groningen: Hendrik Vechnerus, 1788 [on the title page: 1787]. Dutch.
The prayers were composed by Rabbi Shaul ben Aryeh Leib Löwenstam (the rabbi of the Ashkenazi community in Amsterdam), Rabbi Shlomo Shalem (the rabbi of the Sephardi community in Amsterdam), Rabbi Shlomo Sruk and others. Collected, translated and printed on the initiative of Joseph Hamburger, on the occasion of the marriage of the rulers of Holland, William V of Orange and Sophia Frederica Wilhelmina.
Copy signed by Joseph Hamburger (signed on p. 64: "Joseph Salomons"). Appearing on a blank page preceding the title page is a handwritten inscription [by Hamburger?] containing details regarding the book's publication [a similar inscription was also found in another copy of the same edition].
IX, [2], 12-64, [1] pp. Approx. 20.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains, dampstains and light creases. Renewed binding, with part of the original spine.

The three works are bound together.
1. Philologus Hebraeo-Mixtus, unà cum Spicilegio philologico, continente decem quaestionum & positionum praecipuè philologico-Hebraicarum & Judaicarum centurias. Utrecht: ex Officinâ Francisci Halma, 1682. Latin and some Hebrew.
Study in Hebrew philology, accompanied by fine engraved plates that depict, among other things, various Jewish customs: baking matzo bread, lighting the Sabbath candles, a Jewish wedding, and more. [14], 463, [9] pp + [9] engraved plates (title page and eight additional plates).

First four volumes of the work "Religious Ceremonies and Customs of All the Peoples of the World", considered one of the central works on religion during the Enlightenment and including over 150 engravings by Bernard Picart. The work's first part is dedicated to the customs of the Jews and the Catholics, and features, among other things, engravings showing the inauguration of the Portuguese synagogue in Amsterdam, a Passover Seder, tefillin, a wedding ceremony, a circumcision ceremony, a Simchat Torah celebration, various ritual objects, and more.
Volumes 1-4. Probabaly missing two engravings. Approx. 39 cm. Condition varies. Good overall condition. Stains and creases. Small tears to margins (mostly to first and last leaves). Slight worming to two volumes. Bound in leather bindings (from the period), damaged and worn.
