Hanukkah lamp - Star of David. [Morocco, 20th century].
Brass sheet, cut, engraved, pierced and punched.
Lamp for hanging, with backplate and side plates. Surface of plates is decorated with vegetal and geometric patterns (horseshoe-arches). Image of a Star of David appears in the center of the backplate and high-relief Tablets of the Law with an inscription above it: "HaNerot Halalu Anu Madlikin". On top of the plate, a cut Star of David. Catch basin for dripping oil. Oil fonts positioned on an elevated ring. An opening for Shamash in the backplate.
Height: 28 cm, max. width: 28.5 cm, depth: 7.5 cm. Good condition. Some breaks and bends.

Five Hanukkah lamps made of tin. [Jerusalem / North Africa, early 20th century].
Cut tin, folded, soldered and stamped.
Five Hanukkah lamps with a triangular back-plate. In four of the five lamps, the oil fonts are designed as bowls with pinched margins, flower-like. The back-plate of one of the lamps is decorated with flowers and a Star of David. Some with a hanging loop.
Size and condition vary. Between 23.5X21.5 cm and 27X36.5 cm. Fair condition. Wear, bends, rust, soldering repairs and pasting (some original). Two oil fonts and two Shamash are lacking.
Provenance: Collection of Willy Lindwer.

Synagogue lamp in the shape of a Star of David. [India, early 20th century].
Copper; nails.
Lamp in the shape of a Star of David, consisting of copper strips nailed to each other. Space for six light vessels, within rings placed at the six points of the Star of David, and space for an additional vessel, central, within a lower ring attached to the Star of David with six chains. Six long chains consisting of links shaped as rhombuses and rings, linked to a hook for hanging.
Max. width: 43 cm, height: 55 cm. Good condition. Corrosion. Some damages. Seven glass vessels.

Silver.
Circular lamp. Six bent rods rise from a wide lower ring, made of silver strips wrapped around each other, with rings for oil vessels at their ends. An additional space for a large oil vessel - on the lower ring. Chains are suspended between the rods, with bells. Three chains consist of round links attached to three hooks at the lower ring, and to three hooks at the upper part. Additional bells are suspended from the lower ring.
Max. diameter: 40 cm, height: 65 cm. Good condition. Six glass vessels.

Drip bowl (without a pendant), oil container with eight pointed oil fonts, cylindrical baluster shaft, rounded and narrow alternately, rounded upwards and ending with a crown, to which a clover-leaf shaped suspension-hook is attached. Ratchet suspension-hook for adjustable height, decorated with a bird.

On the second third of the shaft are slots for decorations of branches and for oil fonts (missing). A decoration of a two-headed eagle appears above the shaft, to which a clover-leaf shaped suspension-hook is attached. Ratchet suspension-hook for adjustable height, decorated with a bird.
Height: 42 cm, width: 23 cm. Good condition. Lacking decorations. Damages and old repairs.

Hanging memorial lamp for the synagogue. [Tunisia], 1942.
Cast and engraved silver.
Large silver container. Engraved with a Hebrew memorial dedication by the rim: "for the rest of Ya'akov ben Yosef Rossi…1942", and with another dedication on the lower part, seen when the lamp is hanging: "A la Memoire de maître Alfred Rossi 1908-1942". Four floral decorations are nailed to the container. Four chains are attached to a hanger shaped as a lid topped with a hook in the shape of snakes.
Max. diameter: 20 cm, height: 70 cm. Good condition. Soldering repair marks.
Cast and engraved silver.

Table-stand, made of two rings and four tall legs decorated with sawn vegetal motifs. A glass vessel is placed on the upper ring, for lighting; a dedication is engraved on the upper ring: "In memory of Miriam Koriat Iyar 27 5717" (Hebrew).
Height (including glass vessel): 19.5 cm, max. width: 18 cm. Good condition. Some soldering. Some bends. It is possible that glass is not original or that the lower ring lacks a glass vessel.

1. Small rectangular lamp with carrying handle, container and wick. Height: 12 cm, length: 6-7 cm. Fair condition. Rust.
2. Lamp shaped as a cone on a round oil vessel, with wick. Height: 32 cm, max. diameter: 17 cm. Fair condition. Rust.
The oil lamps were purchased from Old Yishuv Court Museum tens of years ago and according to the museum's records they were in the possession of the Jerusalemite family of Yoel Moshe Salomon.

1. Sabbath lamp, designed as a tray with a rod for holding, decorated with vegetal patterns and a Star of David at the top with engraved inscription: "Ner Shabbat". Oil vessels, with pinched rims, are at the tips of two arms. Two removable bases, sawn in the shape of a Star of David, with space for wicks in the center, are placed within oil- dripping bowls.
Height: 13 cm, length: 7 cm, width: 13 cm.
2-3. Two goblets with pinched rims and holding handles connecting them to the round base plate, are positioned on top of a rod soldered to the center of the base plate.
Height: 6 cm, max. diameter: 9-9.5 cm.
