“Kibbutz Ein HaKore on its foundation day . . . 21 March 1937” – photo album. Ein HaKore is Kibbutz Sha’ar HaGolan in the Jordan Valley. Album includes 20 photographs from the establishment of the Kibbutz, which was built in the “Tower and Stockade” framework – establishing walls, structures, building a tower, guarding and more.

Mif'al HaShiloach - water supply to Jerusalem in times of emergency. Published by “Mekorot” Water Company Ltd., July 1948. Photographs: A Himmelreich.
Unique album comprising 15 photographs by photographer Alfons Himmelreich depicting the laying of the water pipe from Hulda to Jerusalem along the route of the Burma Road during the months of July-August 1948.
“And Jerusalem was under siege and the enemy plotted to fatigue the power of its defenders and fighters by thirst and cut off the water arteries. . . and an order was given from the Ministry of Defense to the Mekorot Company to break the plot and bring water to the city . . .”
The copy belonged to the first Mayor of Jerusalem, Daniel Oster.
18 pages, 28x40cm. The photographs are 12.5x17cm.
Very good condition. Parts of the separator pages in the album are torn. Fancy parchment cover with tears and marks.
