Collection of documents from the estate of David (Davis) Trietsch and the estate of his wife Emma Trietsch. Germany and Eretz Israel, late 19th century, first half of 20th century. German.
Collection includes about 40 letters and postcards sent to David Trietsch and about the same number of letters sent to his wife Emma (Mina) née Thomaschensky; several letters handwritten by Trietsch, to his relatives; several letters addressed to Emanuel Trietsch, David's son, (water engineer in Israel) or to his family; several family photos. The letters were not thoroughly examined.
David (David) Trietsch, native of Dresden 1870, participated in the first Zionist Congress and in following ones, member of the Congress executive board; in cooperation with Berthold Feivel, Martin Buber and Leo Winz, founded, in 1900, the monthly periodical Ost und West and in cooperation with Otto Warburg – the monthly periodical "Palestine". Founded in 1903, with some friends, the "Juedisher Verlag" and the "Oriental Settlement Society" which promoted his plan to settle Jews in Cyprus (during the Uganda Plan initiative). Passed away in Eretz Israel in 1935 and was interred in "Ramot HaShavim".

Rehavia Moussaieff was the firstborn son (of 12 children) and the heir of Shlomo Moussaieff, who came to Eretz Israel from Bukhara in 1890 and was one of the founders of the Bukhari neighborhood in Jerusalem. Rehavia Moussaief owned an empire of jewelry and pearls and travelled abroad quite often. Among the documents: a notebook "Antiques and real estate and objects", letters from family members related to business from all over the world, a contract in Arabic from the Turkish period, commercial documents concerning jewelry, permits for entry and departure from Palestine and personal documents.

Yitzhak Raphael Molkho (1894-1976) was a journalist, historian, translator, Zionist activist, businessman and Israeli public figure, born in Thessaloniki, one of the leaders of the Separdic Congregations Union in Jerusalem and in Israel. Managed a business of import, export and distribution of films and had business relations all over the Middle East.
The archive contains hundreds of documents, correspondence with firms in Turkey and France, correspondence regarding import and distribution of films, regulations and documents of the committee of Indian Jews in Israel, postcards and personal letters sent from Greece in the 1930s (Ladino), numerous letters in Sephardic handwriting, and more. The mission of the "Bibliography of the Hebrew Book" project was to document each and every book published in Hebrew and in Jewish languages (Yiddish, Ladino, Jewish-Arabic etc) from the first Hebrew incunabula in ca. 1475 until 1960.
The collection includes: • Letter from Gershom Scholem (typewritten, hand signed with handwritten corrections), addressed to Avraham Shisha Halevy. • A letter and memorandum concerning the above venture from Avraham Shisha Halevy to Prof. Scholem. • Three short letters to Prof. Scholem, from N. Ben Menachem (not signed). • Letter to Prof. Scholem from Moshe Gordon (director of "Bialik Institute" publishing and management-member of the Bibliography project). • Outline of the report of Prof. Scholems about the progress of the Hebrew Catalogue.

Three poems handwritten by the poet Yitzchak Katzenelson, 1935-36. Signed.
1. "MiShirei HaAretz". A three-verse poem, starting with the words: "sleep, my son…".
2. "Frishman", a four-verse poem, about the author and literary critic David Frishman.
3. "Le-N"S", a seven-verse poem, starting with the words" Mi Millel lanu…". Written in honor and in memory of Nahum Sokolov who died in the same year. Tear on lower part of the leaf, with text omission.
Yitzchak Katzenelson (1886-1944) – Jewish-Polish poet and educator, published poems in Yiddish and in Hebrew. Was the principal of the Jewish school in Lodz and visited Eretz Israel twice. During the first years of WW II was in the Warsaw Ghetto and witnesses the mass extermination of Warsaw Jews including his wife and two sons. Between the years 1943-44 joined the Partisan organization "Dror" and wrote the "Song of the Murdered Jewish People ". Katzenelson was sent with his son to the Vittel concentration camp in France where he wrote in his diary all the horrors that he witnessed. In May 1944 was murdered with his son in Auschwitz. Several of his poems were set to music and became very popular. The Beit Lochamei HaGeta'ot Museum is named after him. Attached are two newspaper-cuttings about the poet. Average height 17 cm. Good-fair condition, spotting.
