"Ma'arich HaMa'arachot" (Dictionarium Absolutissimum), dictionary of roots of "Lashon HaKodesh" (Hebrew), by Philippe D'Aquin. Paris, 1629. Only edition.
"Contains… of all the words of the roots arranged and explained in simple order, written by Philippe D'Aquin… who teaches 'Lashon HaKodesh' under the rule of King Louis D'Borbon… ".
The author, Philippe D'Aquin (c. 1578-1650), was an apostate (his former name was Mordechai). King Louis the 13th bestowed upon him title of Professor of the Hebrew Language. He wrote and translated many books, including a translation of "Bechinot Olam" and "Pirkei Avot" with the explanation of the 13 Attributes of Mercy in French.
[11], 584 pages (some copies with [17] pages at beginning also exist), 37 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Moth stains. Tears on title page and on several leaves, restored with scotch tape. New binding.

Siftei Yeshenim, by Rabbi Shabtai Meshorer Bass. Amsterdam, [1680].
Lexicon of books and authors from the writing of the Torah until the time of the author. The first Hebrew bibliographic book.
Rabbi Shabtai Meshorer Bass (1641-1718), a Torah scholar, bookseller and printer. Native of Poland, orphaned at a tender age from both parents who were murdered by the Swedes in the Russian-Polish war, moved to Prague where he served as a cantor (hence his name Meshorer) in the famous Altneu Synagogue (he was given his name because of the bass tone with which he was blessed). He moved to Amsterdam, later established his Hebrew printing press in Dyhernfurt. Renowned for his work Siftei Chachamim on Rashi's commentary on the Torah, printed in hundreds of editions of the Chumash.

Yehuda son of Eliyahu Hadassi, famous and wise Karaite of the 12th century. Resided and operated in Constantinople. His book, Eshkol HaKofer, arranged according to the Ten Commandments and in alphabetical order, written in poetic Hebrew, consists of the fundamentals of the Karaite faith and includes a harsh attack against rabbinical Judaism and its rabbis.
