A Torah scroll rescued from the burning Synagogue on Tlomacka Street. Poland, [mid 20th century]. Oil on canvas mounted on plywood.
The painting shows the figure of a Jew holding a Torah scroll, rescued from the Tlomacka Synagogue rising in flames. "Beit HaKnesset HaGadol of Warsaw" / The Synagogue on Tlomacka Street was planned by the Architect Leonardo Marconi and was inaugurated in 1878 with 1100 seats. In 1943, at the end of the suppression of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the District SS officer ordered flaunting the bombing of the Synagogue, and its photographs were sent to Heinrich Himmler's headquarter in Berlin as a sign that the Jewish life in Warsaw was extinguished.

Stammbaum der Frenherrlichen Familie – Mayer Amschel von Rothschild [Family tree of the esteemed family of Mayer Amschel von Rothschild]. Germany, 1828. Elaborate family tree, at top are the Family-father and founder, Amschel (Anschel) Moses Rothschild (born October 1745), his wife (born June 1755) followed by their children: Mayer Amschel, Moses Amschel, Kalman Amschel and their daughter who was married to a son of the Goldschmidt family. The last Rothschilds who are recorded in this tree were born in the 1820's (the youngest was born in 1829), amongst them are Adolf Carl von Rothschild, Gustav de Rothschild, Nethanel de Rothschild and Lyonel de Rothschild.
The family tree was printed on heavy good-quality paper, hand-painted in shades of yellow, orange and purple, with golden adornments. 62X101 cm. Good condition, white and clean paper. Few stains. Tears and minor creases to margins. Rolled.

A large paper sheet, with a sketch of the Apolant family's genealogy. The sketch includes details of names and cities where the family members lived from 1650-1935. For hundreds of years they lived in Central Europe (Prussia, Prague, Berlin, Leszno, Posen), but toward the 20th century, some of them moved to the USA and to Eretz Israel. Other last names of people who married into the Apolant family mentioned in the genealogy are Segal, Vildman, Freidberg, Memelsdorf, Wertheim, Bernstein, Brandett, Adler, Schlesinger, Meyer, Rosenbaum, Lichtenstein, Friedlander, etc. Attached is a photograph album of a baby, son of Dr. Hans-Alexander Wallen (from the Segal family) Apolant.

Large sheet, mostly written in Kartuli (Georgian). At the top is the title "Passover Seder"; in the center an illustration of "Aggada [!] Seder dish" surrounded by explanations of the Seder dish; on the right margins, the 14 Seder symbols are written in Hebrew and Kartuli, accompanied by explanations in Kartuli.
61X85.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Tears to margins. Stains. Moisture damages. Tears repaired with tape. Rolled.
