Signature of author's son: "Yosef ben Rabbi Moshe Mitrani" [the handwriting was compared to his other known signatures and has been clarified as his handwriting, see attached photographs]. Additional inscriptions in various handwritings and several signatures of renowned rabbis, of the Chermon family.
Rabbi Yosef Mitrani – the Maharit (1868-1639), son of Rabbi Moshe Mitrani – the Mabit, was born in Sefad in the time of the "Beit Yosef" and was one of its leading Torah scholars. In 1601, he departed for Constantinople where he taught many disciples [Rabbi Yehoshua Banabashti, author of "Sde Yehoshua" on the Yerushalmi, his brother Rabbi Chaim Banabashti, author of "Knesset HaGedola", Rabbi Aharon Lapfa, Rabbi Chaim Abulafia etc.] and after 20 years he was appointed head of Constantinople rabbis. His famous book, Maharit responsa (Maharimat) was printed by his sons after his death. Rabbi Yehonatan Eibeshitz and Rabbi Ya'akov Emden write that "he was the greatest of the later poskim and an outstanding Torah authority" (see Kreiti U'Pleiti, Siman 110, Kuntress Beit H'Sefeikot; She'elat Ya'avetz responsa, Yoreh Deah, Siman 142).

Handwritten signatures of rabbi “Moshe Margaliot of Hague” and his son “Eizik son of Rabbi Moshe Margaliot of Hague” – The Ga’on Rabbi Moshe Segal Margaliot of Hague (passed away in Tishrei 1817, Otzar HaRabbanim 14935/1), prominent rabbi of Bezalel Rensburg, who cites saying in his name throughout his books and refers to him as “Aluf Ne’urai” [champion of my youth]. Served as Av Beit Din of Petshoi and afterwards served for approximately forty years as rabbi of the city of Carlsberg. Known as “Rabbi Moshe Mochi’ach” [preacher] as he rode a horse while wearing a Tallit and Tefillin and would ride from town to town, preaching to the nation to grow in Torah and reverence of G-D and teaching them Jewish law. Sefer Tzuk Ha’Itim, events from the 1648-1649 Khmelnytsky Uprising, [Rabbi Meir Son of Shmuel of Szczebrzeszyn [Shebreshin]. Venice, [1656].
Sefer Tzuk Ha’Itim is the first chronicle printed on the 1648-1649 Khmelnytsky Uprising. As stated on title page of first edition (Krakow, 1650), the author is Rabbi Meir of Szczebrzeszyn [Shebreshin]. The name of the authentic author appears also in the second edition which was printed two years later in Saloniki in 1652. However, in this third edition, the title page lists “The author is the Torah giant… Yehoshua son of the righteous Ga’on… Rabbi David of Lvov”. Beginning of book and preface remain in original form; forgery appears only with replacement of the name of Rabbi Yehoshua of Lvov where name of author is mentioned. As well, changes were made to beginning words of rhymes of the book in order that they correspond to acrostic of name of Rabbi Yehoshua instead of to name of Rabbi Meir –authentic author [see attached material].

Renowned all over the world from the time he served as Rabbi of Radin, until his death in 1897. Most of his sons and sons-in-law served in the raritebbinate.One of his grandsons: Rabbi David HaCohen "The Nazir Rabbi".

Ownership notations of the Ga’on Rabbi Zvi Yehudah Alswang, brother-in-law of author (who mentions him in introduction of book). Served for many years in the Chicago Rabbinate (USA), and toward his old age immigrated to Israel to study in the Slobodka Yeshiva in Bnei Brak (passed away on Rosh HaShana 1961).

Binding leaves and title page contain stamps and signature of Rabbi Yehoshua Brisk Av Beit Din of Tisa-Dada, family notations in his handwriting [prayer upon death of his mother and listing of her genealogy], and in later handwriting [various death dates]. Title page contains stamp of his son Rabbi “David Ya’akov Brisk Av Beit Din Tisa-Dada”, and signatures [of his son?] Rabbi Tzvi Brisk.
The Ga’on Rabbi Yehoshua Brisk (passed away in 1913, Otzar HaRabbanim 7535), among rabbis of Hungary, Av Beit Din of Tisa-Dada. His three sons were famous rabbis of Hungary who all perished in the Holocaust: The Ga’on Rabbi Mordechai (Maharam) Brisk, Av Beit Din of Tashand; the Ga’on Rabbi Natan Tzvi Brisk Av Beit Din of Salonta; and the Ga’on Rabbi David Ya’akov Brisk who succeeded his father in the rabbinate of Tisa-Dada.

The Ga’on Rabbi Yehoshua Brisk (passed away in 1913, Otzar HaRabbanim 7535), among rabbis of Hungary, Av Beit Din of Tisa-Dada. His three sons were famous rabbis of Hungary who all perished in the Holocaust: The Ga’on Rabbi Mordechai (Maharam) Brisk, Av Beit Din of Tashand; the Ga’on Rabbi Natan Tzvi Brisk Av Beit Din of Salonta; and the Ga’on Rabbi David Ya’akov Brisk who succeeded his father in the rabbinate of Tisa-Dada.
