Twenty original illustrations (ink on paper) for book Sde Eliyahu, illustrated by Meir Ben Uri. Landscapes and Kibbutz settlers at work. Ben Uri, architect and city planner planned a number of settlements, including Sde Eliyahu. The book Sde Eliyahu was written by Naftali Bar Giora, a kibbutz member, in 1940. Most of the illustrations are pasted on the booklet leaves, 21.5x15.5, with the addition of four smaller illustrations. Very good condition.

1. Identity Card in the name of Menachem Schmidt (painter Menachem Shemi). Haifa, 1920s. Shemi's biographies indicate that he was born in 1897, while this identity card states that he was born in 1896.
2-3. Two official forms of the Palestine government, regarding publication of a newspaper. With Gabriel Talpir's personal data and his signature.
4. Printed emblem, "Jewish Artists Union".
5-8. "General Exhibition of Eretz Israel Artists" catalogue, in "Habima" art gallery, Tel Aviv, 1943. List of works exhibited. Attached: two entrance tickets to the exhibition of 1942 and one ticket of 1943.

On the reverse appears a dedication by Reuven Rubin, in pencil: "For my dear friend G. Talpir, with appreciation, Reuven". 25x20 cm. Good condition. Minor damages at borders.

Most of the photographs are annotated and signed on the reverse by Anna Ticho. Most of the photographs were taken by the Jerusalemite photographer Alfred Bernheim, signed with his ink-stamp in Hebrew and English. Attached is a letter handwritten by Ticho. Size varies, 17x9 cm, 16x12 cm and 24x18 cm on average. Very good condition.

Ruth, written and painted by Mordechai Laufer. [Eretz Israel, ca.1960s].
The Book of Ruth handwritten in fine letters on heavy Bristol paper, with original illustrations in black and white (gouache and water colors). The front cover is decorated with a copper-cutting painted in yellow, depicting Ruth carrying stalks of grain on her shoulders, with the caption "Ruth". Probably the manuscript for a book that was supposed to be published but never was. [28] pp, 36 cm. Fair-good condition, leaves slightly loose, minor moisture and other stains.
