This volume of the famous encyclopedia contains tens of glosses and research comments handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yisrael Goldberg – YISGA"V.
Rabbi Dr.Yisrael son of Binyamin Goldberg (1876-1944). Hungarian rabbi, researcher and intellectual, wrote many books, studies with "Shevet Sofer" in Pressburg yeshivah. Served as rabbi of Tata (Hungary). Wrote many entries for encyclopedia "Otzar Yisrael" [for this volume too] and signed "YISGA"V".
8, 320 pp. 27cm. Good-fair condition. Ex-libris. A few leaves and binding are detached and worn.

The Ga'on Rabbi Chaim Nissim Abulafia – HAN"A (1774-1861), a leading sage of Tiberias, Jerusalem and Eretz Yisrael. As of 1856 served as Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem - the "Rishon Le-Zion". (His father, the Ga'on Yitzchak was grandson of Rabbi Chaim Abulafia, establisher of settlement in Tiberias, and he himself was also one of the leading rabbis and founders of Tiberias). Sefer Kise Eliyahu, innovative commentaries of the laws of the Shulchan Aruch, by Rabbi Eliyahu Israel Av Beit Din of Alexandria. Salonica, [1811].
Various inscriptions appear on the title page. Signatures and owner’s inscriptions. In the book’s sheets there are about ten handwritten glosses by Rabbi Chaim Nissim Abulafia. On the back page, there are a few ownership inscriptions from the Beit Midrash of Tiberius and the ornate rabbinical signature of Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Abulafia.
