Batik works were done by wax-resist dyeing and afterwards soaking in paint, so that areas which were not covered with wax – were dyed.
Miriam Chad-Gadya (Nuessenholz) founded and managed the Batik department of "Bezalel". She was the first "Bezalel" student who learned the batik technique in Vienna in the early 1920's.
