Nationale Wiedergeburt des Jüdischen Volks in seinem Lande als mittel zur Lösung der Judenfrage [ the national revival of the Jewish people in their land, as a possible solution to the Jewish problem], by Dr. Natan Birnbaum. Vienna, 1893.
Two publications by Birnbaum under the above title:
1. Brochure of 44 pages. 24 cm. Good condition.
2.Book of 336 pages. 25.5 cm. Fair condition. Stained, not bound. Detached leaves.
Dr. Natan Birnbaum (1864-1937) Austrian journalist, Jewish philosopher, one of the founders of Zionism. His activities preceded Herzl and he is considered the the first to set the term "Zionism". At a later stage Birnbaum abandoned the Zionist movement, turned into a Charedi and significant activist in "Agudat Yisrael". In 1933 with the rise of the Nazi party to power he immigrated with his family to Holland, where he died in 1937.
