Lengthy prefaces by the author Don Yitzchak Abarbanel and by the publisher, his disciple R. Baruch Uziel Forti, containing a wealth of information about the life of Jews in Spain before and after the expulsion.

Yesod HaEmunah, by the Chassid R. Yosef Yaavetz. Ferrara: Abraham ibn Usque, 1553. First edition.
R. Yosef Yaavetz, known as the Chassid Yaavetz (ca. 1440 – 1508), leading rabbi at the time of the Spanish expulsion. After the expulsion, he reached Italy and travelled the country together with his son R. Yitzchak. He came to the aid of his fellow Spanish exiles, preaching to them, encouraging them and strengthening their faith. The principles of faith and Divine Providence are topics stressed repeatedly in his works.

Birkat Avraham, regarding the correct place to recite the blessing over handwashing, by R. Avraham Treves Tzarfati. Venice: Bragadin, 1552. First edition.
The author, R. Avraham Treves (b. 1470 in Italy) served as rabbi in Salonika and Sofia, later living in Constantinople, Adrianople and possibly in Eretz Israel. The title page states that he was a descendant of Rashi. In his preface to the present work, the author relates that in his youth he merited to see a revelation of Eliyahu HaNavi – see Hebrew sidebar.
The book opens with 17 approbations by the Torah scholars of the generation, including an approbation by R. Yosef Karo – the Beit Yosef.

On the title page of vol. I, ownership inscription of R. Avtalyon son of Shlomo of Consiglio (1540-1616), an Italian rabbi in the 16th century, disciple of R. Shmuel Yehuda Katzenellenbogen Rabbi of Padua. R. Avtalyon aroused a famous controversy between Italian rabbis when he disqualified the mikveh in his brother's house in Rovigo.
Signature in vol. II (in initial word panel on leaf 2): "Yaakov son of Amram"; various inscriptions on verso of leaf [2] and on verso of final leaf, including record of the death of R. Yaakov Amram. This may be R. Yaakov son of Amram the physician, a community leader in Jerusalem in the 1620s-1630s.
