Esther scroll. [Poland, 19th century].
Ink on parchment. Script typical of Western Poland in the first half of the 19th century (Beit Yosef script), exceptionally neat, with decorations at the top of each column and to all lines in the column of Haman's ten sons. In one place, enlarged letters spell out the four-lettered Name of G-d. 28 lines per column.
Height of parchment: approx. 41 cm. Fair condition. Stains. Ink faded in many places.

Esther scroll. [Poland, 19th century].
Ink on parchment. Script typical of Poland in the first half of the 19th century (Beit Yosef script); the column of Haman's ten sons in Vellish script. Opening word in large script and decorated. In four places, enlarged letters spell out the four-lettered Name of G-d. Unusually wide columns, 43 lines per column – only seven columns in the entire scroll (including one column for Haman's ten sons).
Height of parchment: approx. 31.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Wear and creases. Some marginal tears.

Esther scroll with many unusual letters. [Poland, 17th century].
Ink on parchment. Script typical of 17th century Poland, with blobs atop the crownlet decorations (possibly added later). 30 lines per column.
Many unusual letters, such as: winding Pe with additional decorations below, Lamed with a fork-like extension, various letters with an additional rounded serif, and more. The custom of writing unusual letters is usually found in old Torah scrolls. Esther scrolls with such letters are very rare. Furthermore, Esther scrolls from Poland in this period are rare.
Height of parchment: approx. 33 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains, some dark. Wear and creases. Ink faded in several places.

Ink on parchment. Italian script. 11 lines per column. First membrane with decorative right edge and a thread for tying. Carved wooden roller.
Enclosed: a parchment leaf written by the same hand, with the blessings and other texts recited with the megillah reading.

HaMelech scroll – most columns begin with the word HaMelech. Sephardic script (unskilled). 14 lines per column.
Case carved with images of the Western Wall and Rachel's Tomb, with printed captions: "Jerusalem", "Western Wall", "Rachel's Tomb".

Complete manuscript. Neat Italian script. An Italian translation of the Targum Sheni (a targum with midrashic elaborations) follows each Hebrew verse. Hebrew words are incorporated into the Italian translation.

Manuscript, Coplas de Purim – a long song for Purim, in Ladino. [Ca. 19th century].
Square Oriental script, mostly vocalized.
The coplas (or complas) are lengthy folk-songs in Ladino, sung in Sephardic communities on holidays and primarily on Purim. There are many coplas for Purim (by different authors), telling the story of the Megillah, describing the Purim meal, mocking Haman and his family, etc. They were sung from printed booklets or from memory.
This manuscript features a copla describing Haman's downfall (La caída de Hamán) – some 60 rhyming stanzas. This is followed by a "hashkava" (memorial prayer) for Haman and Zeresh (in Ladino).
