Blessing and ceremony for reception that took place when the Austrian Emperor entered Mantova in 1814.
After reciting Psalms 98, 126 and 21 the rabbi takes the Torah Scroll out of the ark "and whilst holding it he recites the prayer for Royal Kings which is said every Sabbath and festival…" Hebrew, Italian and Latin.
[4] leaves, 24 cm. Good condition. Creases and a few stains.

The book Ben Yochai, aimed at proving that the holy Zohar was indeed written by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. By Rabbi Moshe Konitz. Vienna, 1815.
Response to the arguments of the Ya'avetz in Mitpachat S'farim, about the origin and authentic nature of the Zohar. The author, Rabbi Moshe Konitz (1834-1839). Rabbi in Open and Budapest. He was a disciple of the Noda BiYehuda and Maharan Mintz. He was a controversial figure, as he was both a Rabbi great in Torah knowledge as well as an Enlightenist fluent in secular studies. See item 211 and enclosed material.
154 pages. 40 cm. Good condition, staines. There is a tear at the top of the title-page. Torn binding.

"With an Ashkenazi translation and commentary by Moshe ben Menahem [Mendelson]…with the addition of Onkelos and Rashi". Includes Shadal's commentary. Shabbat prayers at the end of each volume.
Five volumes, two title pages in each volume. On the first title page of each volume there is an engraving with illustrations relating to contents. There is an engraving with Moshe Mendelson's profile on the front of the first volume.
20 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains from dampness, stains, creased corners. List of owners in each volume. Two volumes have original leather binding, damaged and torn. The others are not bound.

The chairman and secretary signed on the bottom of the certificate. Colored with gold decorations. German. Good condition.

It is also noted that in the community assembly held in 1879 it was decided to appoint him as honorary member of the community. On the bottom a drawing of Moshe Rabeinu. Illustrations of Maggen David and additional illustrations in golden ink. German. Tears and stains to edges. Bottom part torn into two.

Established the first kindergarden in Vienna in 1830 and established an association for the rehabilitation of released prisoners and young criminals; was involved in the Jewish community and one of the leaders of the struggle for equal civil rights for Austrian Jews. In 1868 he was decorated by the emperor and got a title of nobility.

Publication of the Beth Jacob religious girls schools' system, Vienna, with photograph of the school building.
The schooling system for girls "Beth Jakob" was established in the beginning of the 20th century, Ms. Sarah Shnierer started in Krakow a Charedi school by the name of Beit Ya'akov". This school became a mass movement. [This was a novelty based on halachic ruling by the "Chafetz Chaim", stating that the prohibition to teach women Torah and Talmud does not apply to our generation]. In the document herewith it says that "Beit Ya'akov" has about 200 schools in Poland, Rumania, Yoguslavia, Lithuania, Vienna, Paris and London.
