Handwritten sonnet in memory of "the honored elder, humble and worthy, R. David Galiko", by R. David Avraham Chai. [Ancona, 19th century].
Square vowelized handwriting. Sonnet (14 lines), beginning with "Everything has its time, in the words of the scholar (King Solomon)…"
The sonnet was written in honor of the son of the deceased, "the honored young man… Yaakov Yisrael Galiko". It is signed: "These are the words of David… The young David Avraham Chai Set". The author is evidently R. David Avraham Chai Vivanti, rabbi of Ancona (see enclosed material).

* Handwritten leaf, poems for the wedding and dedication of a Sefer Torah in honor of the wedding of the groom Moshe Chaim son of Asher Fano of Modena with the bride Firla daughter of Yosef Chai Nachman (Konsolo) of Ancona. Autographic writing with erasures and corrections. [Modena, 1781]. [1] leaf ([2] pages). These poems were printed that same year in Modena under the title Shir U'Shevachot. Another leaf was printed in honor of the same event titled Kol Rina V'Yeshua. See Bibliography of the Hebrew Book, no. 156446.

Manuscript, Passover Hagaddah. [Italy, 19th century].
Square vowelized script, with decorations in several places. The text of the Hagaddah is written in the center of the pages, with wide margins, evidently for future decoration. The first page is framed with a decorative frame, topped by the Tables of the Law (the decoration of the page is incomplete). Page [6b] contains a colorful border for the ten plagues, with space left for illustrations. Page [8b] contains illustrations of Matzah and Marror (bitter herbs). Page 10a contains decorative borders and columns, with Italian instructions (in Hebrew lettering) for the simanim of the Seder. The end of the Hagaddah contains the piyyutim "Adir Hu", "Echad Mi Yodea", and "Chad Gadya". The colophon on the final page states: "Completed… by Shlomo ben Shmuel Levi".
