Three Chabad books printed at the IDF military base in Fā’id, Egypt after the Yom Kippur War: · Siddur Tehillat Hashem, Nusach HaAri. Fā’id, 1973. · "Ohel Yosef Yitzchak" Tehillim, with a compilation of letters by the Rayatz. Fā’id, 1973. · Likutei Amarim Tanya. Fā’id, 1973. The books were printed at the IDF military base at Fā’id, Egypt after the Yom Kippur War, following instructions of the Chabad-Lubavitch Rebbe. This printing encountered many difficulties including 20 consecutive hours of driving, a special authorization from Ariel Sharon, etc., and was seen as a shining example of the heroic devotion Chassidim displayed in fulfilling their Rebbe's instructions. In those days, this episode was widely covered by Israeli media. After the war, the Rebbe attributed great importance to this printing, from both spiritual and security aspects. Due to mistakes in the first printing of the Tanya in Fā’id, the Rebbe initiated another printing of the book in Fā’id. This Tanya is the second revised edition. Three books, 11.5 cm. Good condition.

These two editions of the Rambam, printed in Venice in 1550, are called "Rambam im Migdal Oz" in the books of poskim. In 1550, the printer Bragadini opened his printing press for Hebrew books in Venice and printed this edition of the Rambam. This edition was edited by an important team of Jewish editors headed by Rabbi Meir Padua [Maharam], a leading Italian sage who added his novellae – “Hagahot Maharam Padua”. That same year, another edition was printed by his competitor, Marco Antonio Justinian [who established his printing press for Hebrew books in Venice, five years previously, in 1545], in which Justinian deceitfully copied part of Hagahot Maharam Padua from the Bragadini edition. The Maharam Padua then appealed to sages in Poland and to his cousin, the Rama, and they subsequently prohibited purchasing Justinian’s edition. This dispute between the two Christian printers instigated the 1553 decree in Italy of burning the books.
