Das Baby-Liederbuch, bilder und verse von Tom Freud [songs for babies, illustrations and verses by Tom Freud]. Berlin: Reuss&Pollack, 1914. German.
Ten songs for babies, each one illustrated by Tom Seidmann-Freud. The illustrations are naïve and gentle, using the pochoir technique which leaves the impression that they were colored by hand (colors are bright and in good condition).
This is the first children's book written and illustrated by Tom Freud, when she was 22 years old, prior to leaving Berlin and prior to her marriage with Jacob Seidmann. During the period when this book was published, Freud led with her older sister Lily, entertainment evenings for children where they read folk stories and songs and screened slides of Tom's paintings. For further information about Tom Seidmann-Freud and her books, see "Kedem" catalogue no. 21, p. 92. [20] pp, 17.5X25.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Damages (tears and minor moth-damages, some tears with omission) to edges of leaves and to cover, all professionally restored. Stains and creases. Scarce.

Collection of illustrated children's stories edited by Ya'akov Simon (Shimoni), who later was one of the founders of the Hagana Intelligence Corps and one of the first to serve in the Israeli Foreign Ministry. The stories describing the lives of new immigrants in Eretz Israel were intended to arouse Zionist feelings amongst German youngsters. With illustrations by Bernhard Gelbart.
92 pp, 20 cm. Very Good Plus condition. Very minor stains, slight tears to spine.
