Letter by Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Flam to Rabbi Asher Zelig of Rafeld Av Beit Din of Prachnik. Dubiecko, [1936].
“Upon receiving his letter I summoned Rabbi Eliezer – and related the severity of the matter… and he requested that I relay to wait an additional four weeks, until receiving legal authorization from the bride…”.
Rebbe Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Flam (Otzar HaRabbanim 19462), direct descendant of the “Maggid of Lutsk”, among pioneer Chassidim and disciple of the Maggid of Mezeritch. Grandson of Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rubin Av Beit Din of Korczyna author of Beit Aharon. A short while prior to the Holocaust began serving as rabbi and rebbe of Dubiecko and perished approximately in the year 1943. His brother-in-law was Rebbe Rabbi Chaim Ya’akov Safrin of Komarna.

A long letter handwritten and signed by the Novominsk Rebbe Yehuda Aryeh Perlow, who signed "Yehuda Aryeh son of my father the Holy Rebbe of Novominsk". Saratoga (USA), 1941.
The letter was sent to his brother's son-in-law Rabbi David Moshe Shapira the Rebbe of Gvozdetz – Sadigura [his wife Alta was the eldest daughter of the Rebbe of Bialatchov Rebbe Shlomo Chaim Perlow]. On the reverse side of the leaf is a letter in the handwriting of his wife the rebbetzin who writes in Yiddish to her niece "Rebbetzin Alti'le".

Rebbe Baruch Hager served as Vizhnitz Rebbe from 1885-1893. Since he is blessed in this letter with life, the letter must be from those years.

Arbitration bill concerning the estate of Rebbe Ze'ev Twersky of Rachamstrivka, signed by his son-in-law Rabbi "Chaim Meir Hager" [Vizhnitz Rebbe author of Imrei Chaim] and his daughter Rebbetzin "Margalit Hager". [Jerusalem-Tel Aviv?]. 1950.
Mentioned in the bill is the Rebbe's house on Chafetz Chaim Street in Jerusalem and the Ba'al Shem Tov's Sefer Torah , bought from the estate by his daughter Rebbetzin Margalit.
Rebbe Ze'ev Twersky of Rachamstrivka, son of Rebbe Yochanan of Rachamstrivka, served as rebbe together with his brother Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Rachamstrivka after their father's death in 1895. In 1926, Rabbi Menachem Nachum ascended to Jerusalem and in 1935, also Rabbi Ze'ev arrived in Jerusalem where he died in 1937.
His son Rabbi Nachum Moshe Twersky of Kovel was murdered with his whole family in the Holocaust of European Jewry. His second son was the son-in-law of the cousin of Rebbe Avraham Dov of Rachamstrivka. The estate guardian refused to give part of the estate to the daughter, the Vizhnitz Rebbetzin, he represented other people of the Twersky family. A great polemic arose in regard to this subject and the parties agreed on arbitration. This is a rare document which reveals details of that legal litigation, a matter never publicly exposed.

The letter is full from beginning to end with good wishes for blessing and salvation and tells of his stay in the Alps for medical reasons.
Rebbe David Moshe Rosenbaum (1925-1969), son of Rebbe Eliezer Ze'ev of Kretsnif. Immigrated to Eretz -Yisrael after the Holocaust and settled in Rehovot. Renowned as a wonder-worker, many Jews flocked to his home requesting advice and blessings, primarily in matters concerning medical counsel and livelihood. In his pure heart he carried public and individual needs, this is also obvious from this letter which is overflowing with blessings.
Leaf 25 cm. Approximately 20 rows in his handwriting. Thin paper, good condition.

Letter of authorization in holy handwriting and signature of Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Zacuto – The Ramaz. Mantua, 7 Tishrei [1681].
“I have received… five hundred on account of the wages due to me from the holy congregations for the past three months; Tamuz, Av and Elul of 1681, and I have signed my name attesting to this here in Mantua, Moshe son of Rabbi Mordechai Zacuto”. Followed by signature of Rabbi Yehuda Briel [member of Beit Din of the Ramaz, successor to him in the rabbinate of Mantua and leading Torah scholar of Italy during that period – see attached material].
The Ramaz – Rabbi Moshe Zacuto (1612-1698, Otzar HaRabbanim 14674), divine genius and Kabbalist. Among transmitters of wisdom of Kabbalah in Italy and throughout countries of Europe. Native of Amsterdam; studied Kabbalah by Rabbi Shaul Mortira. Studied in Poland with Rabbi Yitzchak of Poznan and Rabbi Elchanan of Vilnius under whom he grew tremendously in Torah. He received the essence of the wisdom of Kabbalah from Kabbalist Rabbi Binyamin HaLevi, among disciples of the Ari (some ascribe him as author of Chemdat Yamim – see “Chemdat Yamim Treasury”).
In Shem HaGedolim, the Chida notes that he was granted a heavenly spirit. Rabbi Gur Aryeh HaLevi of Mantua testified that he heard the inner spirit speak from within him.
Served in the rabbinate of Venice together with Rabbi Azarya Figo. From 1673 served as rabbi in Mantua until his death on Sukkot (1697) – year of birth of the Ba’al Shem Tov.
His disciples include: Rabbi Binyamin HaKohen (the Rabach) father-in-law of Rabbi Yeshaya Basan among rabbis of the Ramchal, and Rabbi Avraham Reggio.
