Letter by Rabbi Ya’akov Chananya Kovo to “Kollelot Adat Yeshurun in Craiova” (Craiova, Romania). Thessaloniki, [1865].
Request concerning native of Thessaloniki who departed to Craiova and has not contacted his concerned family for an extended period of time.
Rabbi Ya’akov Kovo (1824-1907), chief rabbi, Av Beit Din and Rosh Yeshiva in Thessaloniki; son of Rabbi Chananya Kovo, who too was among scholars of Thessaloniki, and descendant of a famous rabbinic family from Greece. His book, Kochav Ya’akov (Thessaloniki, 1915) is the last responsa book by rabbis of Thessaloniki which was printed in the city.

Letter by Rabbi Shlomo Bachar Shmuel to Rabbi Moshe Ya'akov Otolingi. [Yanina, Greece], 1898.
Long letter, first part is criticism of Jews who neglect the mitzvoth. Further on, the writer tells of the state of the rabbinate in his city and of the local rabbis, Rav HaChashmal [Rabbi Chaim Shmuel HaLevi] and Rabbi Yehuda Kimchi [later Rabbi of Tripoli]. The last section discusses grammar topics.
The writer, Rabbi Shlomo Bachar Shmuel, a Torah scholar of Yanina, died at a young age and his father published his sermons in the book Yeriot Shlomo [Jerusalem, 1909).
The letter recipient, Rabbi Moshe Ya'akov Otolingi (1840-1901), from the Otolingi rabbinic family in Italy, a mohel, scribe and renowned educator. Served first as principal of the Talmud Torah in Livorno. in 1880, moved to serve as principal of Thessaloniki Talmud Torah and achieved a lot in the field of education in the city. Also wrote pedagogic articles, poems and plays.

Letter by Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Nurok, to Rabbi Shneur Zalman Hirshowitz Rabbi of Goldingen. Mitau, Kislev 1901.
In the letter, Rabbi Nurok describes his efforts to arrange residential rights in Goldingen (Latvia) for Rabbi Dov Nochimovsky, grandson of Rabbi Shneur Zalman Hirshowitz. On the remaining empty page is a draft of the response to Rabbi Nurok, in the handwriting of Rabbi Shneur Zalman Hirshowitz.
Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Nurok (1885-1962), son of Rabbi Zvi Nurok Rabbi of Mitau, Latvia and his successor in its rabbinate. A leader of Latvian Jewry, active in Zionism, he was affiliated with the Mizrachi movement and member of the Latvian parliament. Was very active in attaining authorizations for Jews to reside in the Corland region which includes the city of Mitau, and this letter is an example. He ascended to Eretz Yisrael after the Holocaust, served as Knesset member for many years and even served as Post Minister.
The recipient of the letter, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Hirshowitz Rabbi of Goldengen (1798-1904), friend of the Netziv from the days they studied together at the Volozhin Yeshiva, and close disciple of Rabbi Yisrael of Salant. Served for a short while in the Boisk rabbinate, and from the year 1851, served for over 50 years as Rabbi of Goldengen. Authored Even Yisrael from the teachings of his teacher Rabbi Yisrael Salant and Even Bochan, his glosses on the Alfes [Gilayon Alfes] printed in the Talmud editions of the Re'em printing press in Vilnius. His grandson (his granddaughter's husband) Rabbi Dov Nochimovsky, who is discussed in this letter, eventually succeeded him as rabbi of Goldengen (died in 1930).

Rabbi Yitzhak HaCohen Huberman, "the Tzaddik of Ra'anana" (1896-1977). Born in Poland, studied Torah from Rabbi Ya'akov Mordechai of Belogorye, the "Shem Mi-Shmuel" of Sochatshev and from Rabbi Glickson (son-in-law of R' Chaim of Brisk). Known for his diligence and genius. Was close to the Gerrer Rebbes and had connection to Lubavitch school of thought as well. After the Holocaust, he served for 6 years as Rabbi in Wetzlar, Germany. Immigrated to Eretz -Israel and settled in Ra'anana. Known as a lofty tzaddik and a wonder-worker. Rabbi Shach writes about him in the approbation to his book" Ben L'Oshri", "Who is famous for being full of knowledge of revealed and hidden (Torah)".

Son-in-law of the Ga’on Rabbi Tzvi Shteinman (passed away in 1947), rabbi of Rechovot. Served as chief rabbi of Pardes Chana where he founded the Kletzk Yeshiva which was the basis for Midrishiyat No’am in Pardes Chana. In 1947 moved to Rechovot and succeeded his father-in-law in the rabbinate of the city, where he established Yeshivat HaDarom, and after devoting himself to the Yeshiva, resigned from the rabbinate of Rechovot and passed it on to Rabbi Elimelech Bar-Shaul, whereas he remained only in position of Av Beit Din.

Large collection of hundreds of signed documents from the Mifal HaTorah archive in Jerusalem. Signed questionnaires, letters of satisfaction from those insured, copies of telegrams, signed membership forms (some with photographs) and Kupat Holim booklets with photographs and signatures. 1950s until c. 1965.
Mifal HaTorah was a welfare and medical assistance organization for yeshiva families in Jerusalem and in Eretz Yisrael. During the years, members joined the medical insurance arrangement with the Kupat Holim for National Employees. Among the members who signed these forms are many signatures of renowned rabbis and rebbes of the previous generation and of the elder yeshiva heads living our times. For example: Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevitz [Head of Mir Yeshiva]; Rabbi Moshe Finkel; Rabbi Aryeh Finkel; Rabbi Shalom Saffrin of Kamrana; Rabbi Yechiel Leifer; Rabbi Yisrael Grossman; Rabbi Moshe Halberstam; Rabbi Baruch David Povarsky; Rabbi Nissim Toledano; Rabbi Shimon Ba'adani; Rabbi Zvi Kushelevsky; Rabbi Yehoshua Neuwirth; Rabbi Elchanan Kunstadt; Rabbi Ya'akov Katz; Rabbi Zundel Kroizer; and many other dozens of signatures by renowned rabbis and public figures.
