Copy of Rebbe Levi Yitzchak Leifer of Nadvorna-Arad-Haifa. Many notations and scribbles on first leaves. Long dedication on title page: "This siddur belongs to this rabbi… famous holy tzaddik… Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Leifer Arad ben… Rabbi Yechiel Leifer…these are the words of the son of his brother-in-law Meir Weisblum of Borsa…here in Arad…". On the same page, the Rebbe added in his own handwriting the dates of the yahrtzheits of his mother and brothers murdered in the Holocaust: "The yahrtzheit of my holy mother… and my holy brother Rabbi Binyamin… and my holy brother Yissachar…". At the end of the book is a similar dedication by Rabbi Meir Weisblum, and a list of names of people needing salvation in the Rebbe's handwriting.
Rebbe Levi Yitzchak Leifer of Nadvorna-Arad (1895-1961, Encyclopedia L'Chassidut Vol. 3, page 25), son of Rebbe Yechiel of Michalovce, another son of Rabbi Meir HaGadol of Premishlan. Son-in-law of Rabbi Meir Weisblum Rabbi of Nadvorna (Lizhensk dynasty). Most of his family was murdered during the Holocaust, only he and his brother Rabbi Aharon Aryeh of Temesvár survived. Settled in Haifa where he established his Chassidic court and served as rebbe.

On title page inscription and signature: "This book belongs to me, Meir David Tabak, dayan and rabbi here in Sighet". A number of scholarly glosses and various handwritten inscriptions [some in his handwriting, possibly some written by his father, author of “Erech Shai”]. On the last page are inscriptions by Rabbi "Shlomo Leib".
Rabbi Meir David Tabak (1850-1936, Otzar HaRabbanim 13046), son of the renowned Torah genius Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Leib Tabak Rosh Av Beit Din of Sighet, author of “Erech Shai” and “Teshurat Shai” (1832-1908). Disciple of the Rahak of Sieniawa. Served as dayan and Rabbi of Kretchinef and succeeded his father as Av Beit Din of Sighet. The Rebbe Rabbi Nachman Kahane (1905-1977), eldest son of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Kahane of Spinka, served as rabbi in Carlsberg. After the Holocaust immigrated to Eretz Israel and resided in Masmia and Bnei Brak. Giant in Torah and Chassidism and closely associated with Torah giants of the generation including the Chazon Ish. Author of Kehilot Ya’akov (the Steipler) writes in reference to him that he is “among leading Halachic authorities and righteous giants of the generation... inasmuch as I was told that the Chazon Ish held his Torah and righteousness in high esteem”.

* Bnei Zion, Volume 4. Beirut, Lebanon, 1957. Dedication in Arabic by Professor Albert Alya, secretary of the jewish community of Lebanon [was abducted in Beirut by the Syrian in 1971 and executed for espionage].
Rabbi Ben Zion Lechtman (1892-1964), was born in Brailov near Zhitomir. Studied in Lithuanian yeshivot (Radin, Mir, Slabodka and Slutsk). An outstanding Torah scholar and teacher. Traveled from Jerusalem to Lebanon in 1932 to serve there as rabbi where he was recognized for his Torah greatness and appointed as Chief Rabbi and Head of the Beit Din of the capital city Beirut. In 1959, he returned to Jerusalem. The series of his books Bnei Zion, 7 volumes, is an impressive Torah work, including depth and tremendous breadth on many treatises regarding practical adherence to Torah laws.

Traveled from Jerusalem to Lebanon in 1932 to serve there as rabbi where he was recognized for his Torah greatness and appointed as Chief Rabbi and Head of the Beit Din of the capital city Beirut. In 1959, he returned to Jerusalem. The series of his books Bnei Zion, 7 volumes, is an impressive Torah work, including depth and tremendous breadth on many treatises regarding practical adherence to Torah laws.

Gift of book for Purim, anthologies on Purim and Megillat Esther, Jerusalem, 1946. On recto and verso of title page are dedications in the handwriting of the Tzaddik of Ra'anana, the holy Torah genius Rabbi Yitzchak HaCohen Hoberman (1896-1977). Born in Poland, he studied under Rabbi Ya'akov Mordechai of Bilgoria, by the Shem M'Shmuel of Sochatchev, and by Rabbi Glickson (son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim of Brisk). Renowned for his diligence and brilliance. Was connected to Gur and Lubavitch Chassidism. After the Holocaust, served six years in the German rabbinate. Ascended to Ra'anana, Israel. Known as a lofty tzaddik and wonder-worker. Rabbi Shach wrote about him in approbation of his book Ben L'Oshri, "Well-known to be full of knowledge in the revealed and hidden Torah".
