Sha'ar HaYichud - from the book "Chovot HaLevavot", with commentary "Mano'ach HaLevavot" [by Rabbi Mano'ach Hendel son of Rabbi Shmarya], and with commentary "Pardes Katan", by Rabbi Naftali Hirsch son of Rabbi Mordechai. Frankfurt an der Oder, [1779].
Beginning of book contains preface named "Sidrei Bereshit", and end of book contains two small compositions: "Hakdamat Kohelet" and "Midrash Kohelet" - Collection on Megillat Kohelet, by Rabbi Naftali Hirsch. The commentary "Pardes Katan" which is mentioned in the title page was not printed in the book, neither was the commentary "Levav Chacham" which was mentioned in the rabbis' approbations [the author notes that he did not print the entire composition since he was short on time and lacking funds]. The last composition ("Midrash Kohelet") contains collections from the book "Toraht Chaim" by Rabbi Chaim Yissachar Alshich [this book was not printed].
Stamps, ownership notations and signatures ("Moshe Chaim Chefetz" - Rabbi in Jaffa?).
Forty leaves. 16.5 cm. Fair condition. Stains, professionally restored moth holes. New binding.

Tractate Kiddushin of the Babylonian Talmud. Published by the Rabbis Union Committee in the American region in Germany with the assistance of Va'ad HaHatzala. Munich St. Etilin, 1946. Illustrated title page with photographs from the extermination camps "labor shed in which we secretly slept, studied and prayed".
In the publisher's introduction he mentions the "taking of the book from the people of the Book" by the evil people who annihilated and burnt European Jewry and made an effort not to leave any Hebrew book "all books were taken for paper processing or other despicable usesג€¦ and therefore after the liberation there was a great thirst for books, Yeshivot were established, however, there were no books to study fromג€¦ this spurred us to print some tractatesג€¦ we possess only Tractate Kiddushin and Nedarim in one volume in nearly new condition and we decided to photocopy and print these tractates and distribute them among the refugees in Germanyג€¦" [At a later stage, the entire Shas was printed in Munich in a uniform edition consisting of 19 volumes, with an illustrated title page with different illustrations than this first copy].

A letter to the Rabbis and Torah Leaders of Yisrael. By Rabbi Dov Ber Avramowitz. New York, 1899. A printed leaflet addressed as a letter to US rabbis demanding treatment of various halachic problems, reflecting the way of life in the midst of the community of Jewish immigrants in the US at the end of the 19th century.
The writer deals with various topics that arose as a result of the new reality of the US: Possibility of sha'atnez in clothing manufactured in the US, various problems of machine matzot and the kashrut of various foods, permission to read newspapers printed on Shabbat, traveling by boat from New York to Brooklyn on Yom Tov, traveling by train and elevator on Shabbat, etc.
