Two Medals with the Tetragrammaton – Commemorating the Archbishop of Paris – Paris, 1848

Two identical medals made of different metals, commemorating the Archbishop of Paris, Denis Auguste Affre who was killed in the "Spring of Nations" revolutions. Paris, 1848.
Obverse: The archbishop of Paris Denis Auguste Affre standing on a barricade, surmounted by a legend in French: "Le Bon Pasteur donne sa vie pour ses brebis" (the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep). On the bottom appears the date – June 1848. Reverse: A triangle with the Tetragrammaton and a legend in French.
