This postcard portrays the "Beit Israel" synagogue of the Sephardic community in Belgrade, inaugurated in 1908 and destroyed by the Nazis in 1941. The postcard is titled by hand, in Hebrew – "Beit HaSefer uBeit HaKnesset 'HaSepharadim'" – and in Serbian. On the reverse appear a postal stamp from 1917 and an ink stamp of the German military administration in Serbia.
14X8.5 cm. Good condition. Stains. Some damage.
