Diverse collection of 62 photographs of North Africa – photos of Jews, of urban sights, etc. [North Africa, 20th century].
The collection contains: * Photos of Jews in traditional attire in North African streets. * Photograph of the Jewish cemetery in Fez (titled on verso). * Photo of a rabbi in the mellah (titled on verso). * Photo of a street sign "Sciara El Hara Kebira" (apparently, the Jewish quarter in Tripoli, Libya). * Photo of a sign "Negociado Central de Vigilancia y Seguridad, Tetuan" [Department for public safety, Tetuan], encompassing a Star of David and a crown, stamped on verso with the Israelitisches Familienblatt stamp. The Israelitisches Familienblatt operated in Germany until 1938. * Photo of a Jewish seamstresses in the streets of the mellah (Jewish quarter) and the café Beit Ya'akov in Marrakesh (taken by Assaf Kutin). * Photo of Rabbi Chaim Shoshana and Rabbi Masud Adahan (by the photographer Michael Margolis, ca. 1980s). * Photos of Muslim North Africans. * More.
