"The Times" Newspaper Issue - November, 1917 - First Announcement of the "Balfour Declaration" in the Press

The Balfour Declaration appears on page 7, under the headline "Official Sympathy". An article headlined "The British Victory in Palestine" reviewing the operation of the British Army led by Edmond Allenby in Eretz Israel appears on the same page.
The "Balfour Declaration", which stated Britain's support of the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Eretz Israel, was signed by the British Foreign Minister, Arthur James Balfour, on November 2, 1917. One week later, on November 9, the declaration was first published in the press. 14 pp, 59.5 cm. Good condition. Folding marks, professionally restored tears. Adhesive tape to spine of issue.
