Augustinus Calmet (1672-1757) – French Catholic theologist, historian and bible researcher. Calmet was a pioneering researcher who scientifically studied the bible and his studies served other researched through the 19th cent.
First volume: 1725, 321, 40, 19 pp + [48 plates, one map detached]; second volume:1727, 604, 230 pp + [65 plates]; third volume: 1731,[18],392 pp + [29 plates]; fourth volume: 1731, 393-924, [24] pp + [23 plates]. Volumes 41.5 cm. Good condition, contemporary leather bindings, worn corners and spine. Minor tears and spots, some handwritten comments, professional restoration to some leaves.
