Brit Shalom – Frankfurt am Main, 1718 – Glosses of Rabbi David Pipano

A book of Torah novellae which shall be named Brit Shalom, homiletics on the Torah by Rabbi Pinchas ben Pilta Av Beit Din of Wlodawa. Frankfurt am Main, [1718].
Glosses in Oriental writing, some signed "A.P.D.". Apparently, Rabbi David ben Avraham Pipano (1951-1925) a rabbi in Salonika, Rabbi of Sofia and Chief Rabbi of Bulgaria, author of Choshen HaEfod, Chagor HaEfod, Avnei HaEfod, Me'il HaEfod etc [see attached material].
In some glosses, he sharply criticizes the words of the author ["I do not know where he found this verse in Seder Balak… and in Seder V'Zot HaBeracha… it is astonishing how he glued them together like shofar shards"; "And I do not know what new thing he said…"; "It is astonishing how the Rav mixed up the matter of a ram's shofar…"].
Missing copy. 14, 18-19, 21-96, 98-132, 8, [2] leaves [a total of 20 missing leaves. Title page replaced with a photocopy]. 30.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Moth damage, sometimes with damage to text.
