The author, R. David Shlomo Eibeshitz (1755-1814), Rabbi of Soroca. In 1809 he immigrated to Eretz Israel and settled in Safed, where he is buried. He authored the famous halachic work Levushei Serad, and his book Arvei Nachal became a foundational Chassidic book, which has been printed in over twenty editions.
