Title page features a signature in old handwriting: “Levi Yitzchak … of Lubavitch”.
Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Zalmansohn (ca. 1811-1872), Av Beit Din of Velizh. Grandson of the Mitteler Rebbe; Son-in-law of the Tzemach Tzedek. Rosh Yeshiva of the first yeshiva established by the Tzemach Tzedek in Lubavitch. Rabbi Levi Yitzchak married Rebbetzin Dvorah Leah, daughter of the Tzemach Tzedek, on 13 Elul 1826. Rabbi Levi Yitzchak’s mother was the daughter of the Mitteler Rebbe of Lubavitch; his paternal grandmother was the daughter of Rabbi Levi Yitzchok of Berdichev.
