The book is divided in two parts: Part I – "Book of Average Men" – Explanation of fundamentals of worship of G-d. Part II "Based on the first paragraph of Kriat Shema" – Explanation of the fundaments of faith in the unity of G-d, according to the doctrine of the Baal Shem Tov.
The advantage of this edition is that it was completely unaffected by censorship, which impinged upon most subsequent editions.
[2-3], 5-16, 25-86 leaves (originally: [3], 4-86 leaves). Lacking ten leaves: title page and leaves 4, 17-24 (missing leaves replaced in photocopy). 16.5 cm. Fair condition. Stains. Traces of past dampness with significant mold stains to some leaves. Wear. Worming, affecting text, repaired with paper. Open tears, affecting text, repaired with paper, with handwritten replacement of missing text (all leaves were restored). Handwritten inscriptions. New leather binding.
