Bezalel rug depicting Abraham's Tamarisk, Mount Sinai and Herzl's Cypress. Jerusalem, [ca. 1906 to 1914].
Wool knot-pile; cotton foundation.
Central panel designed as a triple arch arcade; the right arch depicts Abraham's Tamarisk, the central arch depicts Mount Sinai and the left arch shows Herzl's Cypress. The border is inscribed ‘Bezalel Yerushalem.’
59x102cm. Good condition. Small repairs. Strap sewn to upper edge on verso.
