Joseph Budko (1888-1940) – Four Large Prints
Four large prints (three woodcuts and an etching) by Joseph Budko. Hand-signed by him.
1. Portrait of a Yemenite Jew, etching, [1914]. 24X29.5 cm.
2. "Sabbath Night", a woodcut depicting Jews returning from the synagogue in Plonsk, [1921]. 36X40 cm.
3. "Jews", a woodcut depicting a group of Jews studying by candlelight, [1920]. 40X36 cm.
4. "The Old Man", a woodcut depicting a Jew studying in a Beit Midrash, [ca. 1920]. 36.5X31.5 cm.
The etching is in good condition. The woodcuts are in good-fair condition, with minor blemishes and tears to edges (mostly restored). One woodcut ("The Old Man") is in fair condition, with tears and small holes to the plate.
