Collection of Architecture Photographs – Palestine – Bauhaus-Style Architecture – Photographs by Rudi Weissenstein, Yitzhak Kalter, Walter Christaller and Others
Fifteen photographs of architecture in Palestine, some of them documenting early Bauhaus-style buildings. Jerusalem, Haifa, Tel Aviv and elsewhere.
The photographs include: an inner room at the Government House in Jerusalem (designed by Austen St. Barbe Harrison, completed in 1933); the Carmel Sanatorium in Haifa (designed by Richard Kauffmann, completed in 1935); a garage and parking lot of the "HaMekasher" Company in Jerusalem (designed by Richard Kauffman, completed in 1939); four photographs of Bauhaus-style private residences; three photographs of architectural plans for the promenade of Tel Aviv; and more.
Five of the photographs are stamped on verso with photographers' stamps – Rudi Weissenstein, Yitzhak Kalter, Walter Christaller and V. Levenheim (two photographs); two are stamped on verso with stamps of the architects – Richard Kauffman and Shmuel (Sam) Barkai.
Size and condition vary. Good overall condition. Minor blemishes. Some of the photographs are captioned on verso by hand (English).
