During the American Civil War, coins were hoarded and became scarce. Privately issued tokens – of which more than 10,000 varieties have been recorded – filled the gap, issued by a wide range of merchants. Even though many Jewish merchants issued tokens, only the Felix Dining Saloon token has Hebrew letters.
Diameter: 19 mm. Condition: Extra-fine.
