Notebook Kupat Gemach HaKlali (General Gemilut Chesed Fund) in Jerusalem, from 1939. Borrowers' signatures, details of securities or guarantees. Attached are letters of guarantee and letters of borrowers with attached documents. Dozens of leaves and hundreds of signatures.
Many of the guarantee bills are signed by Rabbi Meir Yoseph Haltovsky and Rabbi Moshe Bezalel Margaliot of Chayei Olam Yeshiva. Amongst the names of borrowers, you can find men and women of all sectors of the Jerusalem public, from the simplest people to the most famous rabbis. We shall note a short list of signatures of famous people: Rabbi Gershon Lapidot [Rabbi of Beit Yisrael neighborhood], Rabbi Michel Shlepovarsky [Rosh Yeshiva of Tiferet Zvi], Rabbi Chaikel Ze'ev Miletsky, Rebbetzin of EišiškėsKreina Hutner, Rebbetzin Malka Ezrachi [wife of Rabbi Yisrael of Chebron Yeshiva], Rabbi Chaim Ezra Barzel, Rabbi Yechiel Grossbard, Rabbi Asher Freund [the "Tzaddik" Rebbe, founder of Yad Ezra community and institutes], etc.
