Ketuba for the wedding of the groom Reuven Algranati with the “young and modest bride” Kaliope Salmoni.
The rabbis signed as witnesses are: “The Tzaddik Moshe Azulay, Sahid. The young Chaim Makalai, Sahid”. Ancona (Italy), Spring 1852.
The Gaon Rabbi Moshe Azulay of Ancona, (1747-1853), author of the “Zichron Moshe” and “The Lechem Min Ha-Shamayim – Ruach Chaim”, son of Rabbi Rafael Yeshaya (1743-1826) son of the Hida and Rabbi of Ancona. Before he was born, his grandfather the Hida predicted a boy will be born and his name will be Moshe, who is the seventh generation of Rabbi Avaraham Azulay (author of the “Chesed Le- Avraham”), just like Moshe Rabeinu was the seventh generation of Avraham Avinu. [He was very dear to his grandfather, the Hida, who writes about him with love and respect “The sharp witted Moshe”, “The fine Moshe”]. Used to sign his name “MAY”N” [=Moshe Azulay Ya’ir Nero].
Scribe calligraphy on high quality parchment. Adorned with a colorful, floral themed frame.
