Collection of rare title pages, majority from 16th-19th century.
Some title pages contain ownership notations, signatures, ancient stamps and glosses, in Ashkenazi and Oriental handwriting: [Rabbi “Chaim Mudran”; “Yechiel Hirsch”; “Binyamin Yehuda Leib son of Rabbi P.” [Bernstein]; Rabbi “Moshe Rosenstein” of Berdichev [Safed, disciple of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin]; “Shaul Matlov HaCohen Tzuri”; Rabbi “Metok Chadad” [Chief Av Beit Din of Djerba during the period of Rabbi Yeshua Basis]; stamp of Rabbi “Eliezer Deutsch Av Beit Din of Bonyhad”; stamps of Rabbi “Lapidot Chalvana son of Rabbi Chaim”; stamp of Rabbi “Meir Leib Fry Av Beit Din of… Shuran and the Galilee” [grandson of the "Chatam Sofer"]; many additional signatures and stamps].
Two binding leaves contain interesting ownership notations: “This holy banner belongs to the holy and righteous lover of the Jewish people Rabbi Moshe of Safed” along with list of prominent people of Safed; “This prayer book for Shabbat belongs to the wondrous righteous Rabbi Moshe son of Rabbi Aharon of Karlin…”, includes ownership notation from 1833.
